A 3-year-old Delaware County boy who got a police escort home after a Make-A-Wish trip to Disney World last month, died Monday.

Brayden Chandler's parents shared the news of his death Tuesday in a post on the "Brayden's Buddies" Facebook page, which has more than 8,000 followers.

"We are saddened to say that heaven gained a superhero," they wrote. "Brayden has taught us many things in his short little life time."

Brayden was diagnosed with a bilateral Wilms tumor in January 2013.

After a trip to Disney World in February arranged by the Make-a-Wish Foundation, several police departments escorted Brayden and his family from the Philadelphia International Airport to their home in Springfield Township.

"He battled for his life and always kept a smile while doing it," his parents wrote in their Facebook post. "He was loved by so many people and he loved everyone too."
