Pa. Girls: Tues. Pa. girls: Garnet Valley wins late

Faced with a three-run deficit in the final inning, Garnet Valley conjured up a memorable finish to its Central League softball game against Upper Darby on Tuesday.

Garnet Valley scored four times in the seventh to rally for an 8-7 home victory.

With Upper Darby leading by 7-5, Cori Snyder tied the game with a two-run single to center field. Later in the inning, Nicole Clayton drew a bases-loaded walk that sent Morgan Lovelace across with the winning run.

Suburban One National. Sarah Snider-Leonhauser hit a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to help Neshaminy edge host Truman, 5-4.

Friends School. Allie Quirk ripped a game-winning RBI single to center field to lift Friends Select over George School, 6-5, in nine innings. Zina Robbins-Maldonado scored the decisive run.

Bicentennial Independence. Lanae Hunsberger hit a walk-off RBI single as Christopher Dock downed Bristol, 1-0. The sophomore outfielder hit a ground ball up the middle for the winning hit.

Lacrosse

Carson Adelberger scored her third goal of the game four minutes into overtime as host Sun Valley topped West Chester Rustin, 9-8, in the Ches-Mont American. Jessica McGarrey added three goals.

Catholic Academies. Kristin Fitzgerald scored 11 goals in Villa Joseph Marie's 19-7 victory at Sacred Heart.
