S. Jersey Boys: Wed. S.J. boys: Overbrook comes back, wins

Overbrook's baseball squad was held scoreless by Colonial Conference rival West Deptford until the seventh inning Wednesday. Luckily for the Rams, that inning was all they needed.

Overbrook scored all three of its runs in the bottom of the seventh to defeat West Deptford, 3-2.

With the bases loaded, Josh McCouch hit a two-run double to tie the score, 2-2. The Rams won the game later in the inning on a wild pitch that brought Shane Graham in from third base.

Cape-Atlantic American. Misael Castillo threw a no-hitter as Egg Harbor Township beat visiting Holy Spirit, 2-0. Castillo struck out 14 and walked only two. Andrew Holmes drove in the only runs with a two-run double in the first inning.

Cape-Atlantic National. Morgon Goranson scored on an infield error in the bottom of the ninth inning to help Middle Township edge Cedar Creek, 2-1.

Steven Hand was the winning pitcher. The senior righthander pitched all nine innings, struck out four, and walked one.

Hand also added a double.

Nonleague. Tom Nolan, Kyle Stinson, and Billy Jackson each went 2 for 3 at the plate as Highland downed visiting Triton, 7-2.

Stinson scored three times, Nolan scored twice, and Jackson scored one run and drove in another. Stinson was the winning pitcher, scattering four hits over 51/3 innings. The senior righthander struck out five and walked one.

Lacrosse

David Smith netted four goals as Shawnee blew past visiting Washington Township, 15-3, in an Olympic Conference American Division game.

Jack Tyrrell added a hat trick, and Steven Boyle tallied two goals for the Minutemen.

Nonleague. James Kitchen scored his second goal of the game in overtime to give host St. Augustine a 6-5 triumph over Penn Charter.

Aaron Denesevich also scored two goals for the Hermits. St. Augustine held a 3-0 lead after one period.

Track

Emmanuel Udotong won three events in Cinnaminson's 100-40 win over visiting Maple Shade in a Burlington County League meet.

Udotong took the triple jump with a leap of 18 feet, 51/2 inches. He also earned top honors in the triple jump with a 41-foot effort. In the 400 meters, Udotong registered a time of 53.7 seconds.

Volleyball

Michael Foster tallied 13 kills and four blocks for Pleasantville in its 2-0 nonleague win over host Pennsauken Tech. Alex Ponce de los Santos added 14 assists and eight digs. Kevin Kemp recorded three kills for Pennsauken Tech.
