The basepaths are getting pretty lonely when the Springfield (Delco) softball team takes the field lately.

Tori DePietro pitched the second no-hitter in as many days for the Cougars, who topped visiting Harriton, 15-0, in a four-inning Central League game Wednesday afternoon.

DePietro struck out five, issued no walks, and missed out on the perfect game only because of two Springfield errors. At the plate, DePietro went 2 for 2 with two runs, two RBIs, and two walks.

On Monday, Courtney Scarpato tossed a five-inning no-hitter for Springfield, which has allowed two hits in 16 Central League innings this year.

Elsewhere in the Central League, Bridget Newman struck out nine and hit a two-run homer in host Haverford High's 7-2 victory over Ridley.

Catholic League. Alexis Gartner struck out seven in a six-inning no-hitter to lead Conwell-Egan at Bishop McDevitt, 12-0.

Ches-Mont National. A pitchers' duel at West Chester East featured Olivia Rogers and the host Vikings topping Maggie Balint and Avon Grove, 2-0.

Rogers struck out 10, allowing seven hits and two walks. Balint was just as brilliant, striking out 11 and surrendering three hits and a walk.

Nonleague. Mary Wallick earned the win on the mound and recorded her 100th career hit with a two-run homer in the first inning of host Bristol's 14-0 blanking of MaST Charter.

Zina Robbins-Maldonado scored a run, drove in a run, and held visiting Delco Christian without a run, striking out seven in Friends Select's 2-0 victory.

Brooke Harner fanned 14 as visiting Kennett edged Downingtown East, 3-2.

Lacrosse

Emma Dahle scored the 300th goal of her career during Friends' Central's 10-9 nonleague victory at Hill School.

The 300th came on Dahle's third goal of the game, and that gave the Phoenix a 3-1 lead with 11 minutes, 54 seconds to go in the first half.

The Brown recruit finished with four goals and three assists, and Emily Tedesco added four goals.

Inter-Ac. Grayson Melby got a shot off from among three defenders with 24 seconds remaining and beat the goaltender stick-side to give Germantown Friends a 13-12 victory at Springside Chestnut Hill.

Greta Meyer scored five goals for Germantown Friends, and Meg McCool scored five for Springside Chestnut Hill.
