The Central boys' team was the big winner once again at the Public League track and field championships Thursday at the Northeast supersite. The Lancers outdistanced second-place Del-Val Charter, 140-80.5, in the overall standings.
Walt Pegues, who won two field events Wednesday, continued his big week by taking home the 100 meters in 10.95 seconds, edging teammate Tyree Brooks, who finished in the same time.
Simon Gratz's Tyree Rouse, who came in .01 of a second behind the leaders in the 100, won the 200 in 21.44. Pegues finished second at 21.82.
