Coach Doyle, who was raised in Northeast Philadelphia, graduated from Archbishop Ryan High School in 1987. She was a basketball star in high school and went on to excel at the game as a student at the University of Richmond.
As a senior in 1992, she set an NCAA record by making 66 consecutive free throws. The record was for both men and women.
A life celebration for Coach Doyle will take place from 7 to 10 p.m., Tuesday, May 27, at the John H. Givnish Funeral Home, 10975 Academy Rd., Philadelphia.
On Wednesday, May 28, there will be a period of silent prayer from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass from 11 to noon, both at St. Bede the Venerable Roman Catholic Church, 1071 Holland Rd., Southampton.
Interment is private.
