FORMER ST. JOHN'S forward Orlando Sanchez will work out with the Sixers tomorrow, his agent confirmed.
The franchise has seven picks in the upcoming draft, set for June 26 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The Sixers have the third and the 10th overall picks, which were decided in last week's lottery, and they also have five second-round choices.
Sanchez, a 6-9, 232-pound forward from Nagua, Dominican Republic, averaged 7.4 points and 5.6 rebounds this past season, his lone season with the Red Storm.
"Orlando is definitely a sleeper in the draft," agent B.J. Bass, of RBA Sports, said yesterday. "There are definitely teams that have him in the mix, and a lot of people don't realize that he's as close as he is. He was just invited to the adidas Euro-Camp in Italy, due to his Dominican background. There's a lot of people in the league that know him well and like him a lot, because of what he did for the Dominican national team a few years ago."
