FORMER ST. JOHN'S forward Orlando Sanchez will work out with the Sixers tomorrow, his agent confirmed.

The franchise has seven picks in the upcoming draft, set for June 26 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The Sixers have the third and the 10th overall picks, which were decided in last week's lottery, and they also have five second-round choices.

Sanchez, a 6-9, 232-pound forward from Nagua, Dominican Republic, averaged 7.4 points and 5.6 rebounds this past season, his lone season with the Red Storm.

"Orlando is definitely a sleeper in the draft," agent B.J. Bass, of RBA Sports, said yesterday. "There are definitely teams that have him in the mix, and a lot of people don't realize that he's as close as he is. He was just invited to the adidas Euro-Camp in Italy, due to his Dominican background. There's a lot of people in the league that know him well and like him a lot, because of what he did for the Dominican national team a few years ago."

He dropped out of high school at age 17 to support his family and since played 2 years of junior college basketball, a game with the Dominican Republic national team and for a club team in his native country.

Sanchez is projected to go anywhere from late in the second round to being an undrafted free agent, with the potential to make some NBA Summer League rosters.

"I felt that he and Halil Kanacevic [of Saint Joseph's] were the best passing big men that I saw in the country," Bass said. "He has a very high IQ, NBA athleticism, NBA skill set and versatility on both sides of the floor. He has a very unique skill set. Off the court, he's a great kid, that's loyal and humble. In my view, he has everything to make a roster and help a team. I'd be saying that even if I didn't manage him."
