A NUISANCE BAR on a Nicetown corner where a fight outside sparked gunfire that left a woman dead in November 2012 became the scene of another fatal shooting over the weekend.

Gunfire erupted in the bar formerly known as Buffy's Lounge - more recently renamed Mr. Chicken and Bernice's Lounge - at Dennie and Clarissa streets about 12:30 a.m. Saturday, police said. Responding officers found a man in the bar shot once in the back, a police spokeswoman said. He died at Temple University Hospital just before 1 a.m.

Police said yesterday that they had not yet identified the victim, and that no suspects or motive in the shooting had been determined.

In November 2012, Johnika Tiggett, 25, had just left the same bar when a fight that began inside spilled outside and ended in a gunbattle among five men. Tiggett, an innocent bystander, took a fatal shot to the head.

Just 20 days before Tiggett's slaying, William Armour, 36, was fatally shot outside the same bar.

Last August, Assistant District Attorney Beth Grossman, who heads the District Attorney's Public Nuisance Task Force, told the Daily News that her office had received an average of one complaint a year about the bar.

The bar has been cited at least 12 times by the state Liquor Control Board since 1992, the board's website says.

According to police statistics obtained by the Daily News last year, cops were called to the bar's block more than 1,000 times in a roughly four-year span from 2009 to 2013, including 280 calls for disorderly crowds, three for homicides and eight for aggravated assaults.
