Pa. Girls: Radnor blanks Franklin Towne

Isabel Schaefer has made life easy for the Radnor softball team this postseason.

Schaefer delivered her fourth shutout of the playoffs in a five-inning no hitter to lead Radnor to a 10-0 win over Franklin Towne Charter in the first round of the PIAA Class AAA playoffs on Monday at West Chester East.

Schaefer finished with nine strikeouts. She was also 3 for 3 with two runs.

Katie Jordan was 2 for 3 with two runs for the Red Raiders, which scored six runs in the fifth to enact the 10-run rule. Bari Margolis and Michelle Gorson added two hits each.

Lansdale Catholic 8, Donegal 4 - Jenna Gibbons crossed the plate three times as the Crusaders doubled up the Indians at Arcadia University. Ashley Seal allowed three earned runs on seven hits to get the win. The sophomore is 12-2 on the year. Senior first baseman Alicia Kradzinski was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs. Senior left fielder Kristin Szczepaniak drove in three. Bridie Harkins belted two hits and scored.

Class AAAA First Round

Winning pitcher Kerri Dadalski smacked three hits, scored twice, and batted in one in Archbishop Ryan's 6-0 shutout of North Penn at Arcadia. Sarah Ostaszewski went 2 for 4 with two runs and an RBI. Catherine Hammer was perfect at the plate with three hits and an RBI.

Class AA First Round

Regina Milburn smashed two doubles in Conwell-Egan's 7-6 loss to Delone Catholic in nine innings at Arcadia. Ellie Murray also doubled.

Pen Argyl 3, St. Basil 2 - Kiera Peters went 2 for 3 with an RBI in the Panthers' defeat at Allentown Patriots Park. Kaitlyn Brogan was 2 for 4. Nicole Eberhard walked four and struck out three in the complete game loss. Pen Argyl won on a two-out, walk-off single by Brittany Ruch.

Class A First Round

Mary Wallick tossed a three-inning one-hit shutout to lead Bristol to a 24-0 triumph over GAMP at Archbishop Ryan. Wallick also went 4 for 4 with an inside the park home run in the first inning. Maya Alicea blasted a grand slam. Rose Marie Scalzo tripled and finished with three RBIs.
