They make up one-third of the Springfield (Delco) softball lineup.
Together they have helped the Cougars capture a Central League championship, reach the final of the District 1 Class AAA tournament, and earn the program's first state playoff win since 2007.
The Scarpato sisters have left their mark on Springfield softball.
There's Lauren Scarpato, a four-year starter and three-year captain. The senior third baseman is hitting over .400.
She leads the Cougars (21-4) by example. Not a yeller who will get in a teammate's face, Lauren would rather have her hard work and focus be contagious. If she sees a teammate is having trouble with her swing, Springfield coach Todd Odgers said, Lauren will help her with the mechanics. If another teammate has a bad at-bat, Lauren is there to pick her up.
