DOUGLASS CASEY, a man wanted for allegedly robbing and sexually assaulting a man he met on the Grindr online-dating app in April, was arrested Saturday.

Casey, 26, of Cottage Street near Bridge in Frankford, is facing a slew of criminal charges, including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, robbery, theft and kidnapping for ransom.

Casey, who also goes by the name Douglas Spady, is being held in lieu of $1 million bail and is due in court June 26.

Police said that the afternoon of April 9 Casey used the Internet to meet his alleged victim, an out-of-towner attending an education conference and staying at the Center City Hilton Home2 Suites hotel, on Arch Street near 12th.

The Canadian man, 34, told police that after he invited Casey to his room, the defendant said he had a gun and sexually assaulted him.

Casey then allegedly forced the man to withdraw a total of $1,000 from five ATMs and to purchase four $500 Visa gift cards. After the two walked to the Irish Pub at 20th and Walnut streets, the victim was able to break free and run away from Casey, police said.
