Pa. Girls: Souderton heads to softball title game

Souderton earned a championship bid with a 2-0 win over DuBois on Monday in the PIAA Class AAAA softball semifinals at Bloomsburg University.

Amanda Brush drove home Angie Carty, reaching first base on a throwing error. The Indians scored their second run on a sacrifice fly by Missy Wiley.

Erelle Sowers struck out six in a complete-game effort that sent Souderton to the final against Lower Dauphin Friday at Penn State.

Sowers gave up three hits and and a walk.

Carty and Haley Delaney each doubled for Souderton.

PIAA Class AAA Semifinals

Greta Sheridan belted a home run for Lansdale Catholic in a 4-1 loss to Bethlehem Catholic at Lyons Field in Fleetwood. Amanda Bradley hit a double.

PIAA Class A Semifinals

Bristol's Olivia D'Emidio slugged a double, but the Warriors fell to Minersville, 10-1, at Patriots Park in Allentown.
