Gerald B. Bonner, 75, of Sewell, who retired in 1992 as an executive with the regional office of the National Park Service in Philadelphia, died during surgery on Monday, June 9, at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, a son, John, said.

"He was regional personnel officer for at least five years" before he retired, Mr. Bonner's son said.

Born in West Philadelphia, Mr. Bonner graduated from Overbrook High School and studied at the Philadelphia College of Art.

Mr. Bonner sold insurance and worked for the IRS and the Defense Mapping Agency before joining the Park Service.

As a personnel officer, Mr. Bonner was involved "in bridging the gap between employees and management," his son said, and "was very proud of the work he had done."

Besides his son, Mr. Bonner is survived by son Thomas and three grandchildren. His wife, Norma, died in 2003.

A visitation and life celebration were set from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14, at Snover-Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 N., with a prayer service at 11, followed by interment in Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson.
