Clooney meets the mom . . .

We've said it about scores of his ex-girlfriends, but George Clooney's latest belle, fiancee Amal Alamuddin, 36, really may lead him down the aisle after all. Clooney, 53, spent this weekend with Amal and her mom, Baria Alamuddin, at his villa on Lake Como, Italy, People reports.

"They were outside, and Amal and her mom were smiling," Anonymous Source tells the mag. "Amal's mom left the next day, and at the airport they just looked so happy." Clooney and his gal reportedly will wed in September. Hmm. We'll see.

Katie Couric, blushing bride

To be honest we are not sure if she actually blushed, but ABC News' Katie Couric, 57, looked every bit the bride - in a Carmen Marc Valvo-created ivory beaded and embroidered Chantilly lace halter gown - Saturday when she wed second hub John Molner before 50 intimates in her backyard in East Hampton, N.Y.

Known as a man who generally spreads pain - and many, many epithets - around, Gordon Ramsay has given us some joy: The potty-mouthed Brit chef on Monday said he's killing his Fox show, Kitchen Nightmares, after its seventh season, E! News reports.
