Rick Brunson, a former Temple men's basketball star and a candidate to be the Owls' next assistant coach, was arrested in suburban Chicago on June 25 after an alleged sexual assault at a fitness center.
According to a Vernon Hills (Ill.) police report, Brunson grabbed an employee of Lifetime Fitness and was charged with attempted criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual abuse, and third-degree aggravated battery. A court date was not announced.
Brunson, 42, did not immediately return a phone call. Temple had no comment.
According to a source, Brunson was set to be introduced as an Owls assistant this month. His son, Jalen, is a senior at Stevenson High near Chicago and is ranked by ESPN as the nation's No. 1 point guard recruit.
