Han Solo grounded
As you know, Harrison Ford, 71, is reprising his iconic role as brash space cowboy Solo in Star Wars: Episode VII, the much-anticipated blahblahblah. In June, he broke his leg during filming at Pinewoods Studio outside London, when a door on the Millennium Falcon, his trusty, beat-up spacecraft, fell on him. And you're taking that thing into outer space??? On Sunday, Disney announced the film will be put on hiatus for two weeks in August, and the whole shooting schedule adjusted. Ford may take up to two months to heal.
Back in the Pink
Pink Floyd fans, rejoice! The band's last album, The Division Bell, was released in 1994, and now a new one, titled The Endless River, will appear in October! The news was bruited in a tweet on Saturday by Polly Samson, wife of Floyd guitarist David Gilmour. She hinted that some of the material began as sessions for The Division Bell 30 years ago. Durga McBroom-Hudson, Floyd backup singer, confirmed that she's been singing on some tracks, and that all the material will be previously unreleased. Some tracks are by Richard Wright, the Floyd keyboardist who died in 2008. Floyd guys Gilmour and Nick Mason have been working on it. No word on whether that other Floyd, Roger Waters, is involved.
Match on a match
Hafta say, the French mag Paris Match really is swooning over Michelle Rodriguez and Zac Efron, calling them "the couple of the summer" and publishing snaps from an Italian outing with moneybags Gianluca Vacchi. Wait . . . isn't Michelle with Cara Delevingne? And isn't Zac, or didn't he used to be, with Vanessa Hudgens? Or do such things matter any more? "Is this the beginning of a great love story? Or just two young stars just having a good time together?" Match asks, very Frenchly. "Time will tell!" C'est vrai!
Alyson Hannigan, that new wacky-orange you have dyed your hair? Um, it's so not you, or anyone on this planet. . . . You, too, Leo DiCaprio, and your new beard, which the tabs liken to that of Jack Nicholson but we liken to a small feral animal of the night. . . . Jewel and Ty Murray were seen together on the Fourth, following her news of their divorce plans. . . . Solange Knowles, who beat on brother-in-law Jay Z famously in an elevator, while sis Beyoncé looked on, tells Lucky mag, whose cover Solange graces, "What's important is that my family and I are all good." Great. But why did you beat on him???? . . . On the first live The View since she announced her departure, Sherri Shepherd wept and said, "I've been here seven years, and my time at The View is complete." She'd known since the spring, she said, but kept mum, not to distract from Barbara Walter's departure news. . . . Maksim "Unspellable" Chmerkovskiy did the I-Am-Not- Jennifer-
Lopez's-Boyfriend tour on the weekend, slumming around the Hamptons for the Fourth weekend, and palling with fitness model Alesya Bikeeva.
