Real convict of Atlanta

It'll be some time before we'll see The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks on her husband's arm.

Apollo Nida, 35, was sentenced Tuesday to 96 months (eight years) in federal prison after pleading guilty to bank fraud and ID theft, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports. Nida ripped off more than 50 people to the tune of $2 mil.

Nida could have been given anywhere from 92 to 115 months. U.S. District Court Judge Charles A. Pannell said he handed down a fairly stiff sentence because white-collar crimes of this type see a high rate of recidivism.

"I want to apologize to the victims," Nida told the judge. "I want to apologize to my family for letting them down."  Nida will report to prison within the next few weeks.

Dolly, the missionary?

Dolly Parton tells Country Woman mag that had she never made it in showbiz, she would have devoted her life to saving souls . . . or was it saving women's hair? "I'd have been a beautician," Parton, 68, says. "Or maybe I'd have been a missionary; but where would I get my hair done?" Parton is publicizing her new LP, Blue Smoke.

'The View': The future

So now that Sherri Shepherd, Barbara Walters, and Jenny McCarthy are gone from ABC's The View, who'll join poor, lonely Whoopi Goldberg on the gabfest?

TMZ names Rosie O'Donnell, who has been in the chair before (2006-07); she's said to be in serious negotiations. The other name being floated is crazily delicious in its implications: Sarah Palin.  Palin sounds like she wants it.

"[M]aybe a show like that needs a punch of reality and a voice of reason from America's heartland," Palin tells the Hollywood Reporter. "You know, someone willing to go rogue."
