Edwin E. Lunn, 81, of Runnemede, a former school board member there, died of lung cancer Sunday, July 27, at the Vitas Inpatient Hospice Unit of Kennedy University Hospital in Stratford.

Born in Camden, Mr. Lunn graduated from Rutgers Preparatory School in Somerset and earned a bachelor's in electrical engineering at Drexel University.

During the Korean conflict, he was a fire central technician on the battleship New Jersey.

Mr. Lunn chose a career as an electrical engineer because his father had worked in that field, Mr. Lunn's wife, Carolyn, said.

After working for a large utility infrastructure construction firm, Mr. Lunn retired in 1994 as an electrical superintendent, she said.

Mr. Lunn was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, a member of American Legion Post 281 in Chews Landing and of the former Post 250 in Runnemede, where he was the chapter's chaplain.

For more than 20 years, she said, he was a member of the Runnemede Senior Citizens Club.

Besides his wife, Mr. Lunn is survived by son Ronald, daughters Jennifer Collins and Arline Lewin, a brother, stepdaughters Sharon Hartman and Linda Ackley, five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and a great-grandson. He was predeceased by his former wife, Katherine.

Viewings were set from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 31, and from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at the Gardner Funeral Home, 126 S. Black Horse Pike, Runnemede, before an 11 a.m. funeral at Trinity Lutheran Church, 200 E. Clements Bridge Rd., Runnemede 08078. Interment is to be private.
