CONNIE MURRAY was laid to rest Monday, but the fallout from her slaying, allegedly at the hands of her husband, now includes another member of her family behind bars.
Police yesterday arrested Murray's nephew, Steven Anderson, 32, after one of her neighbors allegedly saw him trying to break into the slain woman's house on Tolbut Street near Ashton Road in Northeast Philly, a police source said.
Just before 2 a.m., the neighbor allegedly saw Anderson and another man, Brandon Howard, 27, attempting to pry open a sliding-glass door in the rear of the house, the source said.
When officers arrived, they confronted Anderson, who tried to brush them off, claiming he was "checking on her house," according to the source. They weren't able get into the home.
