Jeffrey B. Wallner, 65, of Cherry Hill, an insurance broker who owned Walnut Street Associates in Marlton, died of cancer on Wednesday, Aug. 27, at home.

Mr. Wallner graduated from Cheltenham High School in 1967 and earned a bachelor's in business at Temple University in 1971.

He later completed studies to become a chartered life underwriter, with expertise in life insurance and estate planning.

"He started in the insurance business right out of college," his wife, Heather, said.

Mr. Wallner was an insurance broker with Phoenix Home Life Mutual Insurance Co. in Philadelphia from 1972 to 1982, she said.

He then opened his own firm, Walnut Street Associates, in Philadelphia and moved it to Marlton in the late 1980s, where it has offered investment services and financial planning, his wife said.

Mr. Wallner retired four years ago, but his wife said she has continued to manage the firm.

"He was an avid fisherman, in Cape May, for 30 years," she said, going after "blues, weaks, flounder, whatever the heck was there," using their own boat, most recently "a 36-footer for the last five years."

Besides his wife, Mr. Wallner is survived by his mother, Doris; daughters Jennifer Khan and Jessica Angstreich; a sister, and three grandchildren.

A funeral service was set for 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at the chapel at the Mausoleum of Roosevelt Memorial Park, 2701 Old Lincoln Hwy, Trevose.

Donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
