WASHINGTON - The deadly shooting at a movie theater in Colorado has briefly silenced the presidential campaign, prompting both President Obama and likely Republican challenger Mitt Romney to cut short their schedules and pull advertising in the state out of respect for the victims and their families. Obama said Saturday in his weekly radio and Internet address that he hopes everyone takes time this weekend "for prayer and reflection - for the victims of this terrible tragedy, for the people who knew them and loved them, for those who are still struggling to recover.

A few months ago, Bartkowski's mom was listening to KYW radio while driving and heard a story about Swift. Swift's kidneys had failed, but no one among her family and friends was a suitable match to donate a kidney to her. So she was placed on a waiting list to receive one from a cadaver or living donor.

The company will install 76 large digital screens to display advertising, including thirteen 70-inch screens in baggage-claim areas and 50-square-foot digital walls on the overhead arches of concourses B and C, said president Toby Sturek.

The company will install 76 large digital screens to display advertising, including thirteen 70-inch screens in baggage-claim areas and 50-square-foot digital walls on the overhead arches of concourses B and C, said president Toby Sturek. The city-owned airport will receive a minimum of $20.4 million over the seven years of the contract, or 60 to 65 percent of gross ad sales, if that amount is greater, under terms of a contract signed this month by Mayor Nutter.

Dan Roitman's company is called Stroll , a most ill-fitting name. From a growth perspective at least, Stroll's evolution has been anything but a leisurely pace. Born 12 years ago in a Maryland dorm room, the Center City company is an impressive display of the potential of any small business, though perhaps in the extreme. In just the last year, its revenue has exploded from $17 million to $40 million, with another doubling expected by the end of 2012. Profit growth was 400 percent last year, Roitman said.

In his first three months on the job, Yahoo CEO Scott Thompson has imposed the largest layoffs in the company's 17-year history, reshaped the board of directors, picked a potentially disruptive fight with a major shareholder and sued Facebook for patent infringement.

Jeremy Bloom - former Olympic skier, Philadelphia Eagle, and nonprofit-foundation boss - has been raising millions for his next career: replacing corporate ad-purchase professionals with automatic ad-view and spend-tracking software. Bloom's company, Integrate, said this week that it has raised $11 million from Comcast Ventures, cable-TV mogul John Malone's Liberty Global, and the Colorado-based Foundry Group. Foundry also invested $4.2 million in 2010. Integrate says it helps advertisers mine today's complex media markets - in which Americans are split into many thousands of micro-audiences - by sorting the enormous piles of our browsing and shopping data collected by websites, media companies, and merchants and then using it to rank viewership and purchases that follow consumer exposure to ads. The system replaces people with software.
