TAMPA - Ann Romney can't seem to stop talking about her five boys, even though they're hardly boys anymore. Hours after her speech to the Republican National Convention, the wife of nominee Mitt Romney campaigned across the critical battleground state of Florida on Wednesday, talking about her sons, her physical challenges and, of course, her husband. "Know that this is a man you can trust," she told about 100 people at a Latino Coalition luncheon. "Know that this is a man who will work hard for this country.

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - With 22 days until the election and two new polls showing the presidential race tightening in Pennsylvania, Ann Romney reached out to women voters Monday in central Pennsylvania, urging them to persuade their undecided friends to support her husband. "My message is this for women: Do you want a brighter economic future? If you do, vote for Mitt," she said to cheers from an enthusiastic crowd of about 900 people, most of them women, who braved the rain and crammed into Leffler Chapel at Elizabethtown College.

WOLFEBORO, N.H. - Mitt Romney's wife has confirmed a tidbit about the vice presidential search process her husband largely has been keeping secret: He's considering choosing a woman. "We've been looking at that, and I love that option as well," Ann Romney told CBS News in a joint interview with her husband that was broadcast Thursday. She added: "There's a lot of people that Mitt is considering right now. " The disclosure came as the Republican presidential candidate was vacationing with his family at their lakeside estate in Wolfeboro.

FIRST LADY Michelle Obama, whose approval rating is higher than her husband's, has hit her stride. I knew she would. Reaction to Tuesday night's speech was uniformly glowing, proving that she's a political rock star - and one of her husband's biggest political assets. She's come a long way from four years ago, when critics complained about everything from her supposed angry-black-woman attitude to her alleged lack of patriotism. It probably didn't hurt that she looked great, resplendent in a sleeveless Tracy Reese dress and pink J.Crew pumps.

A NN ROMNEY didn't get to be first lady, but that doesn't mean she wants the Disco Ball as a consolation prize. Sources tell TMZ.com that Mitt's honey turned down an offer to appear on the 16th season of "Dancing With the Stars. " She did appear on the season finale of the 15th iteration, voicing her rabid "Dancing" fandom, but she wasn't meant to cha-cha her way into America's hearts. No word was given for why she declined. Romney wouldn't be the first politically connected person to put on dancing shoes.

Hilary Rosen, the Democratic strategist who has been savaged recently for targeting Ann Romney and supposedly maligning motherhood, was merely guilty of saying precisely the right thing in precisely the wrong way. Mitt Romney is happy about what happened; he continues to milk the skirmish, especially in social media. Whittling Rosen's CNN remarks down to one errant phrase - "his wife has never actually worked a day in her life" - is good politics, because Romney needs to win over women voters, and what better way than to conflate Rosen's 11 words into a general Democratic indictment of all stay-at-home moms?

"I'm coming home," Robin Roberts joyously declared Monday in a videocast appearance on Good Morning America beamed from her home as a rousing rendition of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" played in the background. By home, she meant GMA , which has flown without her since she underwent a marrow transplant 20 weeks ago. Roberts, 52, who has the blood disease myelodysplastic syndrome, said her latest tests were so positive, she'll be back "in weeks, not months. " Roberts was excited to be back on air. "I haven't been live on television since the end of August," she said.

BOSTON - Mitt Romney spent the last six years running for president. After his loss to President Obama, he'll have to chart a different course. His initial plan is to spend time with his family. He has five sons and 18 grandchildren, with a 19th on the way. "I don't look at postelection to be a time of regrouping. Instead it's a time of forward focus," Romney, 65, told reporters aboard his plane Tuesday evening as he returned to Boston after his final campaign stop. "I have, of course, a family and life important to me, win or lose.

Creating jobs is the most important talking point for the candidates vying to be president, but style is affecting the campaign in ways it has never done before. Of course, a focus on image in elections is nothing new. Even before a sweating Richard M. Nixon faced the handsome, cool John F. Kennedy in the first televised presidential debate in 1960, image mattered to the public. Still, election 2012 has reached a fevered fashion pitch. From the moment Republican candidate Mitt Romney and his wife, Ann, took the stage at the Republican National Convention in August, we've been evaluating the Romneys and the Obamas like Kanye West and Kim Kardashian on the red carpet.

An 18-year-old who had just registered to vote seemed surprised by parts of the Republican convention as we watched in August. I'm not sure what he was expecting - lofty speeches on issues, solutions to problems, maybe - but this wasn't it. Why is his wife speaking? he wanted to know. Fair enough. Do we really need spouses and Oprah-esque testimonials during national political conventions? Sadly, yes, as one way to counter the outlandish caricatures of candidates that their opponents create in attack ads and elsewhere.

What's a busy mother to do? Monday should be the night you get to catch up on all the shows you DVRed on Sunday night. But the networks aren't giving you much of a chance, particularly if you happen to be a fan of The Voice or Dancing With the Stars , both of which soak up two-hour blocks on Mondays. There are fresh temptations, too, for viewers who like the traditional TV fare of sitcoms and dramas. Hammocked between How I Met Your Mother and 2 Broke Girls , CBS has the peskily charming Partners at 8:30 p.m. Joe (David Krumholtz - Jeff Daniels' psychiatrist on Newsroom )

By Tobias Peter Watching the national conventions over the past two weeks, I was moved. I even felt like crying. And then I became angry. This had a lot to do with the speeches of the lovely wives of the two presidential candidates. Ann Romney, smiling as if her life depended on it, told the Republican delegates and the nation that she was not planning to talk about politics. "Tonight, I want to talk to you from my heart about our hearts," she said. "Tonight, I want to talk to you about love.
