The bicyclist who was shot and killed in West Philadelphia Thursday morning was identified today Rasul Gresham. Gresham, 32, was shot multiple times on the 5900 block of Pine Streets, just blocks from where he lived on the 500 block of South 59th Street. Police are looking for two juveniles who raced away from the scene on bicycles. Investigators have not disclosed a possible motive. CBS3 quoted family friends as saying Gresham grew up in the neighborhood and had four young children.

A 32-year-old man riding a bicycle was shot and killed this morning in West Philadelphia, police said. Police were looking for two youths who sped away on mountain bikes after the 11 a.m. shooting on the 5900 block of Pine Street. The victim, who had been shot multiple times and at least once in the head, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The fleeing youths were last seen pedaling east on Pine before turning north on 56th Street, police said.

A 40-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in the hit-and-run death of a 44-year-old bicyclist in Deptford late Tuesday. Charged is Mary Dalton, of 101 Redstone Ridge Drive, Deptford Township. The victim has been identified as Thomas McCoy, of Mantua Avenue, Woodbury. The Gloucester County's Prosecutor's Office said Dalton, behind the wheel of a Ford Explorer, hit McCoy about 11:30 p.m. on the northbound side of Delsea Drive near Holy Trinity School. McCoy apparently had been returning from a shopping trip at a nearby Wal-Mart, officials said.

IT'S NO secret that Philadelphia can be a bit rough around the edges. But, hey, that's us. We're a city on the move. Unfortunately, the same move that propels us forward can prove dangerous to others - and even be deadly. When I moved to the Great Northeast a few years back, I gave up on my cash-draining car and took up bicycling. Biking to and from work - for recreation, for my health, etc. - I make it a point to obey all laws and to be as safe as possible. One morning while riding to work, I came to a back-road intersection.

Atlantic County authorities said a teenage bicyclist was killed early Monday by a hit-and-run driver who was later arrested. County Prosecutor Ted Housel said Jacob Broschard, 16, of Egg Harbor Township, was riding with two other teens when he was struck about 2 a.m. Housel declined to disclose further details. It was not known whether the other teens were injured. A 31-year-old Egg Harbor man, William M. Simkins, allegedly fled, Housel said, but was arrested two hours later.

Philadelphia police are investigating a hit-and-run accident early Sunday in the city's East Frankford section that left a female cyclist fatally injured. Witnesses told police that the young woman had been struck about 12:25 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Torresdale Avenue near Womrath Street. The woman, whose identity was not released, was pronounced dead a short time later. Investigators said witnesses identified the car that struck the cyclist as a black 1999 Ford Taurus that was found parked and unoccupied a few blocks away in the 4200 block of Torresdale Avenue.

A 19-year-old man on a bicycle died early Saturday after he was shot twice in the back, police said. Riquan Westbrook of North Philadelphia was found at 23rd Street and Watkins Street in South Philadelphia. He was transferred to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he died at 2:04 a.m., police said.

A 70-year-old Vineland, N.J., bicyclist died Wednesday after being struck by a pickup truck on Route 555 in Franklin Township. Robert R. Schwinn was riding along the northbound side of Route 555 near Weymouth Road when a 1992 Ford F-150 pickup struck him from behind at 7:23 a.m., according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office. Schwinn, who was wearing a helmet and safety reflector vest at the time of the collision, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from Underwood-Memorial Hospital in Woodbury.
