RE STU BYKOFSKY'S recent column on Bill O'Reilly: It seems that Stu has a "blonde" hang-up. He must have mentioned the word (alluding to Fox News' penchant for blonde female anchors) at least half a dozen times. But if you've got to listen to some of these folks while watching them on TV, they at least ought to be pleasing to the eyes. CNN obviously hasn't figured that one out yet! I watch both to see how CNN and Fox handle the issues. What strikes me is this: Fox is the only one of the cable news networks that consistently has both liberal and conservative views.

TATTLE HAS WRITTEN about some people of minimal fame over the past 10 years, but today we lead off with the least famous of them all. Me. While Tattle is traditionally written in the persona of the royal "we," since Bill O'Reilly named " Howard Gensler " a Pinhead of the Week (along with President Obama and Cokie Roberts ) it seems only reasonable that Howard Gensler respond. You just never know what will set someone off. In the last item of Friday's column, I kidded that if the Almighty had come to O'Reilly in a dream (as he stated on "60 Minutes")

Bill O'Reilly under fire Bill O'Reilly , accused of telling fibs about his experiences while covering the Falklands War for CBS, must believe that he's the victim of a liberal conspiracy. Why else would the Fox News Channel pundit lash out against mounting evidence that he mischaracterized a postwar protest in Buenos Aires by Argentinians angry that their nation lost the war to Britain. Reilly, who hosts the highest-rated show in cable news, writes in his book No Spin Zone that the demo devolved into a riot in which "many were killed.

The Bill O'Reilly truthism scandal is dead. It's well and truly over despite an ever-growing list of allegations that the Fox News commentator misrepresented events during his career as a TV journalist while covering the aftermath of the Falkland Wars, the troubles in Northern Ireland, and the Nicaraguan Contras, not to mention the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. It will soon be forgotten even if new accusations arise daily. For people who matter - O'Reilly's fans and his employers - the question of whether he lied   is essentially moot.

Tim Russert (host): Bill O'Reilly, what about deficits, the largest in history? Is that a problem for a conservative president? Bill O'Reilly: Sure, it's a problem. It's a problem for anybody. And I'm not a big spending kind of guy. I think Bush is pandering to the electorate by a whole bunch of programs. And you know that the No Child Left Behind Act and all the federal money that poured in to try to help the kids, which, you know, everybody wants to help the kids - Right? - states can't spend the money.

MICHAEL SMERCONISH is, of course, right - Bill O'Reilly is being blackmailed under the guise of sexual harassment. The downside of women's liberation is that many are now free to ruin the lives of famous men by accusing them of harassment. Most such cases never go to trial - the men pay the women off, but the stain of the accusation remains. It obvious that O'Reilly didn't pursue Andrea Mackris - because she is just so darn plain. Famous men can get models, they don't have to settle for hausfraus.

HATE HER if you want, but Dr. Laura Schlessinger is a master at the art of the verbal beatdown. I've listened to her shrill harangues more times than I care to admit, and now that's she's announced she'll stop producing her radio show at year's end so that she can freely pursue her "First Amendment rights," a small part of me is going to miss it. Her surprise announcement Tuesday night came amid outrage over her saying the n-word 11 times...

REPUBLICAN presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee is a secret member of Beyonce's Bey Hive. I have no proof, other than that every time he's on TV lately, the former governor of Arkansas invokes the superstar's name. To my ears, it sounds as if he's a little bit "Drunk in Love. " Not that we can blame him. By riding Beyonce's sequined skirt-tail, Huckabee's getting much-needed traction and scoring invites to programs such as ABC's "The View," where he shared a stage last week with former Destiny's Child member Michelle Williams.

AS SOON as Tattle saw that President Obama was guesting on Zach Galifianakis ' goofy Funny or Die Web show "Between Two Ferns," it was quite clear the president's critics would have a field day with his appearance, even if many of them would ask the same questions Zach did: When you leave office, will your presidential library be in Hawaii or Kenya? During the recent Winter Olympics, which country were you rooting for? But the funny six-minute bit, which turned into a commercial for HealthCare.gov, seems to have accomplished its goal, getting more young people in Funny or Die's target demo to think about health care.

Quitting help Thousands of New Jerseyans will die this year due to tobacco-related illness, yet not a penny of nearly $5 billion generated over the past five years in state cigarette taxes has been allocated for tobacco cessation and prevention efforts. New Jersey is the only state that spends so little on this. Given its population, the state should spend $119.8 million a year on antismoking initiatives, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That's why tobacco-control advocates throughout the state are urging Gov. Christie to allocate $12 million in the coming fiscal year.

RICHMOND, Va. - Fox News host Bill O'Reilly is taking his book-turned-movie franchise and running with it. O'Reilly already has signed a deal with the National Geographic Channel for the movie version of his book Killing Jesus: A History , to be published Sept. 24. And he has three similar books in the works. While he declined to divulge the topics, the projects will make "very, very dramatic history come alive on the page and then in the movies," O'Reilly said in an interview on the Richmond set of Killing Kennedy , the film adaptation of his book about President John F. Kennedy's 1963 assassination.
