TORONTO - The Flyers invaded Canada with a new, unforeseen worry in their crease, with Sergei Bobrovsky set to replace the injured Ilya Bryzgalov for at least one game. They just didn't expect to face a Maple Leafs team with a bigger question mark in net. Toronto starter Jonas Gustavsson went down with an injury during warmups, relegating him to the locker room for the first period before warming the bench. Gustavsson's injury paved the way for the Maple Leafs' fourth-string goaltender, Jussi Rynnas, to make his first career NHL start.

"We're getting the opportunity, playing on the power play and playing with good players.

NEWARK, N.J. - Just a few seconds after he hung up with his parents in Ontario on Sunday night, Tye McGinn phoned his older brother, Jamie, halfway across the country in Denver. He could barely contain his excitement, explaining to his brother - who plays for the Colorado Avalance - as clearly as possible that he was being recalled by the Flyers. "It was probably one of the best feelings I've ever had," Tye McGinn said. "I was probably even happier to tell him, because he's already been through it all. We talk everyday.

Flyers center Brayden Schenn continued his sizzling scoring and, in the process, got the best of his big brother on Thursday night at the charged-up Wells Fargo Center. Schenn scored his fourth goal in seven games and Scott Hartnell had a "Gordie Howe hat trick" - a goal, an assist, and a fight - as the Flyers outlasted the Toronto Maple Leafs, 4-3, and ended their losing streak at three games. With a little less than five minutes remaining in the second period, Schenn scored on a rebound to put the Flyers up, 4-2. He did it while his brother, Luke, was on the ice as a Toronto defenseman.

PITTSBURGH - Outside the arena, a Pittsburgh fan dressed in a white bear costume mocked Flyers goalie Ilya Bryzgalov's fears. This was about an hour before Wednesday's wild playoff opener between the hated, intra-state rivals. "Bryz: Welcome to the Woods!" said the sign that the Bryzly, uh, grizzly bear, was holding. The sign was in reference to Bryzgalov saying the other day he didn't fear the Penguins and didn't fear anything except bears in the woods. For the first two periods of Wednesday's overtime thriller, the Penguins played the role of bears.
