Reprinted from Wednesday's editions. Do armies still invade by parachute? Wouldn't it make more sense to just book a flight to Seattle and take the country over, starting with that guy elbowing travelers at the baggage carousel? Parachutes are more cinematic, I guess. In the early going of Red Dawn - the unnecessary, un-fun remake of John Milius' 1984 Russians-invade-America cult fave - hundreds of CG-rendered North Korean paratroopers descend on Spokane, ready to kill any Americans who get in the way. Shot more than three years ago and only now making its way to the multiplexes, Red Dawn is a movie with a red state state of mind.

This week's new DVD releases offer everything from historic battles to dinosaurs. For Greater Glory, Grade B-minus: Andy Garcia stars in this story of a Mexican war over religious freedom. Director Dean Wright faced a major hurdle in putting together his epic feature. It wasn't enough that he had to create interesting characters to carry moviegoers through the story of Mexico's Cristero War of the 1920s. He also realized many moviegoers will have no knowledge of this conflict. Wright had to provide enough explanation for the film to be understood, but not so much that he bored those already aware of this dark period.

IT LOOKS LIKE "The Last Song" for Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth will be "Here Comes the Bride. " The couple, who met on the set of the cringe-worthy "The Last Song" movie in 2009, announced their engagement Wednesday morning. Miley is only 19 so that's just nutty. The only teenagers who should be getting married are having babies on reality-TV shows. Hemsworth is the 22-year-old Australian star of "The Hunger Games" and the younger brother of Thor, Chris Hemsworth.
