A PASSENGER who apparently didn't want to settle for coach on his flight from Philadelphia to Florida on Wednesday night posed as a pilot so he could sit in the cockpit instead, police say. Philippe Jeannard, 60, of La Rochelle, France, had a ticket for the flight but allegedly donned what appeared to be an Air France captain's outfit and gained access to the cockpit of a US Airways flight departing Philadelphia International Airport. "When Jeannard could not produce proper credentials, he was removed from the flight and the police were notified," said Jillian Russell, a Police Department spokeswoman.

A WOMAN WHO had been banned from an Upper Darby dollar store doused store employees with pepper spray as they tried to escort her out on Monday, and when they tackled her to the ground, she gave the spray can to her 7-year-old daughter and told her to finish the fight, police said. IN AMERICA, some boys get bicycles for their birthdays and others get military-style rifles. One South Jersey boy got the latter recently for his 11th birthday, and his father, Shawn Moore, posted a picture of him on Facebook, bedecked in camouflage, cradling his new semiautomatic Smith & Wesson M&P15-22. But someone saw the picture on Facebook and reported it to New Jersey's Division of Children and Families, and the agency came knocking Friday, with the police. MOST PEOPLE post what they ate for lunch, brag about their kids or lament a slow workday on their Facebook status. Omar Woods of Kensington confessed a crime: "I'm on da run for 3 attemed [sic] murders. " That status update, along with photos that Woods later posted of himself with a handgun jammed in his waistband, now could help convict him in a July shooting in Kensington that injured three people. As social-media use grows, more scofflaws, like Woods, are posting incriminating information or photos online.

THE WORDS came out of Daniel Castro's mouth in dribs and drabs, his every thought broken up by a heavy pause to fight off tears. "I represent a fall from grace . . . I now represent good and evil," said Castro, the Philadelphia police inspector-turned-federal inmate, as he begged U.S. Judge Harvey Bartle III to go easy on him during a resentencing hearing Friday. A jury convicted Castro of making false statements - but deadlocked on other charges - in a 2011 extortion trial. Rather than face a retrial, Castro pleaded guilty that same year to conspiracy to commit extortion, and was given a 60-month prison sentence.
