WE ARE . . . reprehensible. That's the word Penn State President Rodney Erickson used yesterday to describe the actions of those attempting to sell online the free tickets to Joe Paterno's memorial service tomorrow. More than 10,000 free tickets were distributed in seven minutes yesterday because of the "overwhelming demand," Penn State officials said. Tickets started to show up on eBay by midday, with a pair selling for $400 and another for $500. A bid was listed for $90,000, although that was not believed to be a serious bid. EBay removed the auctions from the site shortly thereafter.

FOR SUSAN Finkelstein, sex and baseball have been intertwined in "dark and wonderful ways" since she knew they both existed. Finkelstein was soaking in the bathtub years ago. Pitcher Larry Christenson was on her mind. Things happened, OK? "I'm kind of an open person," she admits. But she's not a hooker. Yesterday, the state Superior Court overturned her March 2010 attempted prostitution conviction for allegedly offering sex to an undercover cop for tickets to the 2009 Phillies-Yankees World Series following her ill-conceived Craigslist post.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The discoveries of two bodies could bring to three the death toll from a Craigslist ad that police say lured victims into a lethal robbery scheme. A body found Friday in a shallow grave near a mall in Akron may be that of a missing man who answered the ad, the FBI said. And a sheriff in a rural county said later in the day that the body of a white male without identification was found in a shallow grave about 90 miles away. The FBI is working on the supposition that the body found near the mall in Akron may be that of Timothy Kern, who has not been seen in more than a week, agency spokeswoman Vicki Anderson said.

Q: I've been married twice, but never really had a long-term relationship. Now in my 40s, I've mastered Internet dating and continuously date multiple women. That strokes the ego, but it's also a curse. I wish I could settle down and be happy, but settling down for me lasts about 3 1/2 months. I was just chewed out by a past girlfriend that I am incapable of having a long-term relationship - the truth hurts. Any advice here? Steve: You're suffering from Peter Pan syndrome. Most lost boys grow up and settle down.

KALIF LEWIS wanted to have sex. So, on the night of Dec. 16, 2009, the married father of two kids trolled the ads on Craigslist and called a prostitute. He left his West Philly home and arrived at the Residence Inn by the airport shortly after midnight. "We had sex," Shanet Foust, the prostitute, told a jury yesterday, "and then afterwards, after he was done, we were talking and everything was nice. I was talking to him while he was washing off. " But things did not turn out so nice.

But you don't have to visit the Craigslist site when there are dozens of smartphone and tablet apps that plumb the site for you. One of the best for iPhone is CraigsPro+ , a $1.99 version of the many Craigslist apps from Escargot Studios L.L.C. Search listings in one or more geographical areas from the CraigsPro+ home screen. If you find something that you like - or that you think someone else will like - it's easy to e-mail the seller, e-mail the advertisement to friends, or post it to Twitter with a comment.

Many postings on Missed Connections have absolutely no chance of catching the right person's eye because of how they are written. Here are tips from Peter Freedman, Craigslist director of romance research, to better your odds of making that connection. When describing your subject, mention colors, clothes. Be specific. If you actually spoke, mention things you talked about. Have a vivid and eye-catching headline. Don't procrastinate. Get your message up there quickly and keep reading Missed Connections because the other person might be looking for you, too.
