Hickory 6, Lakewood 3 HICKORY, N.C. - Matthew West's two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth was the game-winner for the Crawdads against the BlueClaws in the South Atlantic League. New Britain 9, Trenton 7 NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - Francisco Cervelli and Seth Fortenberry had RBI singles for the Thunder in a ninth-inning rally that fell short, giving the Rock Cats a win in the Eastern League.

New Britain 9, Trenton 7 NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - Eric Duncan homered and drove in three runs but the Thunder fell to the RockCats in the Eastern League.

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo Mud Hens roughed up Lehigh Valley starter Kyle Kendrick for nine hits and seven runs in five innings as they beat the IronPigs, 9-2, yesterday in the International League. Mud Hens outfielders Jeff Frazier and Don Kelly hit home runs off Kendrick, a former Phillies righthander who dropped to 2-2. Andy Tracy homered for Lehigh Valley. Lakewood 4, Hickory 3 LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Sebastian Valle's single in the bottom of the ninth knocked in Zachary Collier with the winning run as the BlueClaws beat the Crawdads in the South Atlantic League.

Hickory 3, Lakewood 2 LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Miguel Alfonzo scored on a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning to lift the Crawdads over the BlueClaws in the South Atlantic League. Lakewood's Korby Mintken was stranded at third in the ninth with the tying run when Anthony Gose struck out. Rochester 4, Lehigh Valley 3 ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Steven Tolleson's single with one out in the bottom of the ninth drove in David Winfree with the winning run in the Red Wings' International League victory over the IronPigs.

ALLENTOWN - Scott Mathieson gave up eight hits over five innings, including home runs to Roger Bernadina and Matt Antonelli, as the Lehigh Valley IronPigs lost the first game of a doubleheader to the Syracuse Chiefs, 4-0, in International League action on Monday. In the nightcap, the Chiefs scored all their runs in the first and won by an identical 4-0 score. Hickory 3, Lakewood 2 Hickory 4, Lakewood 1 LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Jhonny Gomez hit an RBI single to score Joshua Richmond with the go-ahead run in the sixth as the Crawdads beat the BlueClaws in the first game of a doubleheader in the South Atlantic League.

READING, Pa. - The Reading Phillies rode their Australian pitcher's seven innings of five hits and one run and a scoring burst in the sixth to get past the Binghamton Mets in a 9-1 Eastern League win Friday night. Drew Naylor improved to 11-9. Tuffy Gosewisch had a two-run homer in the second inning, and Timo Perez's solo shot contributed to the five runs in the sixth inning. HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Thunder's Austin Romine and Rene Rivera both homered, but it wasn't enough in the Eastern League game against the Senators.

READING - Reading's Mike Cisco hurled a one-hit shutout, striking out 10 batters, as the Phillies blanked the Binghamton Mets, 5-0, Thursday in an Eastern League contest. Cisco (4-9) allowed just one walk. Both baserunners came in the first inning, and Cisco retired the final 25 batters. Reading's last one-hit shutout was posted by Gary Knotts on Aug. 16, 2007. HARRISBURG - Matthew Cusick's RBI double in the second inning produced the only run the Thunder could manage in the Eastern League loss to the Senators.

READING - Randy Wolf got the win in a rehabilitation start for Reading, but he was overshadowed by the slugging of Pedro Swann as the Phillies downed the Connecticut Defenders, 12-5, in the Eastern League last night.
