Jeffrey Lurie will own the majority stake in the Eagles and will retain complete control over the team following his divorce settlement, according to an NFL Network report Saturday. Christina Lurie will own a "small, nonvoting share" of the team, the report said, similar to the portions owned by Eagles minority owners Mike Michelson and Richard Green. Lurie is the only owner with a voting stock over the team, the NFL Network, citing league sources, reported. The Eagles have not responded to a request for comment.

A Logan Township man who asked his wife why she wasn't "dead yet" after he repeatedly bashed her in the head with a two-by-four was sentenced Friday to 10 years in state prison in Superior Court in Woodbury. Thomas Tansey, 50, pleaded guilty in June to aggravated assault in connection with the Oct. 9, 2009, attack, which apparently occurred in the couple's garage. The two were planning to divorce, but shared a residence. It was a "miracle" that the 40-year-old woman did not suffer brain damage, Gloucester County Assistant Prosecutor Staci Scheetz said Friday.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Every training camp for the last 18 years, Jeffrey Lurie has taken the podium to answer questions about the state of the Eagles, and for many of those press conferences the asking has been an exercise in futility. There were exceptions. One year Lurie uttered the phrase gold standard - one that will haunt him until his team finally wins a Super Bowl. Two years ago, he cited America's recidivism rate in explaining why Michael Vick would remain on double secret probation after a gun-shooting incident at his birthday party.

It should be clear by now that I know nothing about love or marriage. But about divorce, I'm an expert. Or so I thought. Ask me anything, I used to think. I could've written a book. In fact, I always thought I would or I had, like 20, but never mind, I've come to understand I don't know anything about love, marriage, or even divorce. The reasons? Tom and Katie. Let me begin at the beginning. I'm a Tom Cruise fan, and so is daughter Francesca.

Tattle was kind of hoping a contentious divorce between Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes would provide column fodder for the entire summer (like a Kardashian divorce except with people who do something), but the couple foiled our plans and reached a settlement on Monday, legally sorting out their divorce faster than Tom could jump on Oprah's couch. So it should be clear to everyone that this was all worked out before they got married? "The case has been settled and the agreement has been signed," Holmes' attorney, Jonathan Wolfe, said in a statement.

Divorce is bound to knock Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie off Forbes' billionaires list. With a current net worth estimated at $1.1 billion, he'll be booted from that exclusive club if wife Christina gets any kind of healthy share. But Philadelphia will still have one owner of a local team with 10-digit wealth, the Sixers' Joshua Harris. His worth was estimated in March at $1.6 billion, landing him at No. 804 among the richest people in the world, No. 286 in the United States, according to Forbes.

I'M VERY surprised that Jeffrey and Christina Lurie are divorcing, but that's how it nearly always is, really: Other than Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, when was the last time you heard of a couple splitting up and thought, "Hey, I figured that was coming"? Marriages don't usually play out in public. Most couples are good at seeming happy to strangers, acquaintances, even close friends. I have no idea what happened with the Luries, and I figure that's their business. I won't be delving into it. I will be delving into what this means for the Eagles, which is everybody's business.

Jeffrey and Christina Lurie, billionaire owners of the Philadelphia Eagles and a successful filmmaking team, announced Wednesday evening that they were ending their 20-year marriage. " They emphasized that their breakup would have no impact on the ownership, business, or operations of the Eagles. The couple did not disclose the reason for the split.

Is the Church of Scientology to blame for the collapse of the TomKat corporeal merger? The Los Angeles Times says Dawson's Creek sweetie turned Tom Cruise vassal Katie Holmes , 33, left her man in part because she felt the church controlled her life. Literally: Celebuzz says TomKat's household staff is handpicked by the church, which also dictates Tom's work decisions. Things came to a head, says TMZ, when Tom insisted their daughter, Suri , 6, be sent to live at Sea Org, a reportedly boot-camplike center where kids get an intensive course in L. Ron Hubbard 's teachings.
