TO A CERTAIN segment of the population, Tom Wopat will forever be "Luke Duke," one of the lead characters on the 1980s TV series, "The Dukes of Hazzard," which focused on the comical misadventures of a couple of reformed redneck moonshiners. But Wopat's greatest triumphs have occurred about as far - philosophically and artistically - as you can get from formulaic weekly television. For decades, the 61-year-old actor-singer has been a Broadway mainstay, in a slew of hit musicals and dramas.

THIS JUST IN: Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski did not hold an early morning practice after his top-ranked Blue Devils got spanked by No. 25 Miami Wednesday. In our social-media-dominated world, in which fact and fiction often overlap, it's sometimes hard to tell the truth from a hoax. File this in the latter category. On Thursday, the Internet was abuzz with stories that Coach K called a grueling practice less than an hour after Duke's plane landed in Durham, N.C. Where would anyone get such a notion?

No. 1 Duke went more than eight minutes without a field goal in the first half Wednesday night, and a sellout became a blowout for No. 25 Miami, which delighted a boisterous crowd with a 90-63 victory in Coral Gables, Fla. The defeat was the third-worst ever for a No. 1 team, and Duke's worst in nearly 5 years. "It wasn't demoralizing; they played better," said guard Rasheed Sulaimon, who led Duke with 16 points.

Since we last met, the number of unbeaten Division I teams has been trimmed from four to two. Wyoming was knocked out Wednesday night at home, 63-61, on a buzzer-beating three-pointer by Boise State. The next night, No. 4 Arizona went to Oregon and lost, 70-66, to the Ducks, who won their 17th straight home game. The remaining two unbeatens could fall by the end of the weekend in road games: Duke takes on North Carolina State on Saturday, and Michigan has a tough test at Ohio State on Sunday.
