Richer-than-you 100 You may have noticed that  Katy Perry  is on the cover of the new Forbes. She's criticizing criticizers who hate her for it: "There's no shame in being a boss," says she. Why is she coverlady for the money mag? 'Cause she's on Forbes' Celebrity 100, that list of the highest-paid celebs of the last year.  Floyd Mayweather Jr.  wins, as he always does, evidently, jamming $300 million in his pockets. The guy he beat in a boring bout,  Manny Pacquiao,  made $160 mils.

I THANK Christine Flowers for her op-ed on Elin Nordegren and Tiger Woods. Though we don't know what did and didn't happen, it's sickening to see all the responses saying that violence is deserved (or even humorous) if the recipient is male. More than 250 studies indicate that women initiate domestic violence against men approximately as often as the reverse occurs. Too many people don't treat it seriously enough, arguing that men are usually stronger and bigger, but this difference often works to women's advantage, as men are told never to strike a woman (some say "even in self-defense")

Not that it seemed to do much good, but the U.S. team got a pep talk Friday from none other than Carl Spackler of Caddyshack fame. As fans of the 1980 goofball comedy know, Spackler was a whacked-out golf course superintendent, played so memorably by Bill Murray. Murray reprised the role for an inspirational video that captain Hal Sutton showed to the U.S. players Friday night following their drubbing by the Europeans. "It was funny, hard to describe," Stewart Cink said. In the video, a mug shot of each U.S. player was superimposed onto the body of a player from the U.S. Olympic basketball team.

Gwen Florio is a former Inquirer staff writer who lives in Missoula, Mont. Breaking up just got a whole lot harder on your wallet to do. You already know who's to blame. The same guy who ruined things for golfers. Used to be a million-dollar purse was what separated the major golf tournaments from, say, the Philadelphia Open. Then along came Tiger, creating his own weather as it were, payouts growing as his fame grew, his fame growing as his salary grew, all of it adding up to $100 million-plus annually for him and leaving everybody else in the rough.

FOR ONCE, WE FEEL sorry for Kobe Bryant. The Lakers' star ended up tied with Tiger Woods as America's favorite male sports star in a survey released by Harris Interactive yesterday. Kobe, who finished fourth in last year's survey, has issues. But he did lead the Lakers to their second straight NBA title this past season. So you can see why he would jump to No. 1. Tiger has been in the top spot since 2006. But you would've thought he'd drop a notch or two after repeatedly cheating on then-wife Elin Nordegren.

MOST DUFFERS get first-tee jitters. Can you imagine how shaky you'd be if you were golfing with President Obama? Tiger Woods now knows that feeling. The president decided to escape the pressures of the White House by spending the weekend at the Floridian Golf and Yacht Club in Palm City, Fla. While the president was enjoying a few days with his golfing buddies, his wife and daughters were skiing out west. There was no word on Michelle's reaction to her hubby fraternizing with Woods, who was treated for sex addiction after numerous extramarital affairs that led to a divorce from Elin Nordegren.

IT'S MARCH MADNESS, Tattle readers, and what could be madder than an attractive blonde dating Tiger Woods ? Lindsey Vonn , the alpine ski racer who could pass for ex-wife Elin Nordegren 's more athletic sister, has made it official that her friendship with Tiger has blossomed into "dating," and that's brought out the comedians, the paparazzi and the oddsmakers. "The frenzy surrounding the terrible situation between Tiger and Elin Nordegren lasted for a long time," stated MyTop Sportsbooks.com spokesman Geoff Johnson . On Friday, Brent Geiberger suffered one of the worst indignities in golf - a 5-putt during the second round of The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass. Yesterday, it was Phil Mickelson's turn. Mickelson, widely recognized as one of the great short-game players on the PGA Tour - and one of its most gifted putters - needed 5 strokes from 18 feet on the super-slippery 10th green. He finished with a quadruple-bogey 8 on the hole along his way to a third-round 75. Mickelson even struggled to reach the green.

THE PROBLEM for Tiger Woods is not the fall. It is the reasons why most people believe the fall happened. On the surface, Woods has enough surgical scars to support the fact that his fall from the No. 1 golfer in the world to one who is now struggling to hold on to his PGA career is health-related. Over the last few years, Woods has dealt with a variety of injuries to his neck, knee, Achilles' tendon, elbow and back. Last spring, Woods had microdiscetomy surgery on his back.

The world wondered if Tiger Woods would ever return to being the dominant figure in golf after more than three years of problems with injuries and the revelation in 2009 of repeated episodes of infidelity that crippled his public image. Now, however, as Woods arrives in town to prepare for Thursday's start of the 113th U.S. Open at storied Merion Golf Club in Haverford Township, he appears to be healthier and happier than he has been in years. Not coincidentally, he has returned to a form approaching the earlier part of his career, when he once held all four major championships at the same time.

The suspension is retroactive to last October, and he'll be eligible for the 2011 world championships next August. ON THANKSGIVING night outside his Florida home, Tiger Woods drove his SUV over a fire hydrant and into a tree, setting off a series of drives into trees, and shocking revelations that this feline was really a canine. He and Elin Nordegren officially divorced Monday. And finally, Elin, who has projected more silence than a Harold Lloyd film, has decided to talk with People magazine. This is what happens when Barbara Walters takes the summer off. Elin told People that the couple tried unsuccessfully to reconcile once her husband's infidelities surfaced and that she did not hit Tiger on the night of the car crash.

How awful is MTV sur-reality show Jersey Shore , whose cast has taken over the otherwise idyllic hamlet of Seaside Heights? So bad, so awful, so hurtful, CNN reports, that Garden State residents say it gives their state a bad rep. In a poll of 1,190 New Jersey voters conducted this month by Connecticut's Quinnipiac University, 54 percent said Jersey Shore was bad for the state's image. The naysayers aren't just fans of Republican Gov. Christie , who has blasted the show and its brainiac stars Snooki, The Situation, and JWoww as part of a Jersey-hating conspiracy by New Yorkers.
