She made 15 of 22 shots, including 4 of 7 three-pointers. "I felt like I played awful against Old Dominion," Delle Donne said, referring to Thursday night's 54-52 setback on the road.

Georgia State came into its game with Drexel as one of the top-ranked defensive teams in the Colonial Athletic Association, but Jamie Harris quickly made a mockery of that. Penetrating at will, Harris had 21 points by halftime, and the junior guard from New York City made sure that Drexel wouldn't start CAA play with two road losses. Bouncing back from Saturday's disappointing performance at Delaware, the Dragons built a 20-point lead late in the first half and defeated the Panthers, 72-57, last night at the GSU Sports Arena.

Macon leads Binghamton - limping along at 4-10 and more than three months removed from the dismissal of six players, including at least three starters - against La Salle (7-5) in a home game today. After spending several years as an assistant at Temple, Georgia State and Binghamton, Macon looked forward to becoming a head coach.

Kevin McHale is out as coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves. David Kahn, the new president of basketball operations, announced the move yesterday, ending McHale's 15-year stint with the Timberwolves, mostly in the front office. McHale boldly had drafted Kevin Garnett out of high school in 1995. Kahn replaced McHale in the front office in April. In 2005, McHale took over as coach after firing Flip Saunders, and the team was 19-12 the rest of the season. The Hall of Famer and former Boston Celtics star returned to the bench in December for a second stint, replacing the fired Randy Wittman.
