IN HER TRANSITION from annoying, barely talented tween to annoying, barely talented teen, Miley Cyrus continues to ruffle feathers. Now almost 18, Miley has chosen to follow the Britney , Lindsay route to stardom and show herself off as a completely sexualized seductress. She is completely on display in her new video, "Who Owns My Heart?" in which a more fitting question might be "Who Owns Her Clothes?" Writhing in her undies like a Victoria's Secret model, Miley has again angered the Parents Television Council, which longs for the days when TV's Lucy and Ricky slept in separate beds - and they were married.

"IM NOT TRYING to be 'slutty,' " Miley Cyrus said in a recent interview. So? Kareem Abdul-Jabbar isn't trying to be tall. Doesn't make him short. "I'm not trying to be like, go to the club and get a bunch of guys," Miley added. "What I'm trying to do is to make a point with my record and look consistent, in the way my record sounds and the way I dress. " And that would be . . . ? Not slutty? For many who still want to think of Miley as "Hannah Montana," her "sexy" new look and her provocative video for her new single "Can't Be Tamed," are jarring, controversial and skin-baring.

No smiling, dancing little girl should ever have a funeral at age 6. Yesterday, it seems, someone upstairs agreed. Above the enormous Deliverance Evangelistic Church at 2001 W. Lehigh Ave., once the sprawling site of Connie Mack Stadium, somber clouds remained in place throughout the 2 1/2-hour service taking place there, as if in apology for the tragedy being experienced inside. Beginning at 11 a.m., nearly 800 mourners streamed in to organ music and hymns to say goodbye to Aaliyah Tysheria Sernora Griffin - the first of last week's four victims of the Feltonville car crash to be buried.

She's had the best of both worlds, this teen counterpart of Clark Kent and Superman. By day, she's brunette Miley Stewart, just another stuttering, accident-prone high school student. By night, under a Barbie-blond wig, she's Hannah Montana, strutting pop princess, exuberant monarch of the have-it-all club, teen auxiliary. Hannah Montana: The Movie may spell the end of both world(s) as Miley/Hannah knows them. For many years, Miley Cyrus has purveyed this pop-smart/pop-tart split personality on the Disney series Hannah Montana and on a concert tour immortalized in last year's Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour movie.

Vanity Fair is a magazine for adult readers. Fifteen-year-old Disney phenomenon Miley Cyrus of Hannah Montana is not an adult - yet. So by granting Vanity Fair the right to interview her and photograph her - by none other than famed lenser Annie Leibovitz - what should Cyrus, Disney or her parents have expected? An adult-themed picture. Think of the alternatives: Did you expect Leibovitz to shoot her sitting on a sofa in jeans playing a guitar or having an iced latte? Instead Cyrus, with a sleepy stare, had a bedsheet to wrap her up, and showed her naked back.

Thousands of Americans will go to bed tomorrow night without their Hannah Montana. He said the film has been a top seller since tickets became available on Dec. 1, and is the best-selling concert film in Fandango's seven-year history.

Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus, one and sort of the same, appeared at the Wachovia Center on Monday night before an audience of several thousand healthy-lunged girls. Hannah, the basis of the hit show on the Disney Channel, is a rock star by night. She's the one in the blond wig. Miley, her daytime persona, is the normal teenage girl - though you wouldn't know it from her Cher Jr. hard-rock ensemble and auburn hair extensions. Cece: Being there and seeing her in that atmosphere, everything about it, and all the special effects made up for the fact that her singing isn't really great.
