It seems the fashion universe is ruled by the most considerate of goddesses, and it was she who declared pockets were a must-have on the Golden Globes red carpet Sunday night. Ivory - as opposed to last year's blinding optic white - was among the evening's most popular hues. And blush - or rose quartz, Pantone's color of the year - was at least the runner-up shade. Frocks that weren't a matte pastel sparkled with a flurry of jewel-toned sequins. Sleeves were key. Deep Vs were essential, and capes amped up the night's drama.

"WE'RE the Millers" gets by, for a while, on the gravitational pull of its ingeniously simple premise. Jason Sudeikis, a seedy dealer coerced into a dangerous over-the-border smuggling operation, devises the perfect camouflage - earnest Midwestern tourist in an RV, a family of grinning squares in tow. He has no actual family, so he hires a stripper (Jennifer Aniston), a runaway (Emma Roberts) and a neglected teen boy (Will Poulter) to pose as his wife and kids. There's a richly subversive joke built in to this scenario - disparate people thrown together, trying not to drive each other crazy.

OLIVIA Wilde has a small, but important, role in the auto racing movie "Rush," but those cars can't rocket half as fast as the actress' career. Wilde, who got her start on TV around a decade ago ("Skins," "The O.C. "), segued into small, offbeat movies, then showed her acting chops as "13" on the misanthropic TV medical drama, "House. " Thirteen suits her, because, in 2013, Olivia Wilde is having a year - at home (she's engaged to actor Jason Sudeikis) and on the screen, with three big movies, kicking off with "Rush.

THIRD TIME'S the charm - or is that when you strike out? Formerly cute Beatle Paul McCartney heads into this dicey territory with the announcement yesterday that he'll wed fiancee Nancy Shevell . They've "posted a notice of intention to marry" at London's Marylebone Town Hall. Sounds so veddy British. It means they can marry any time in the calendar year starting Sept. 30. No wedding details out yet. Marylebone's apparently the place for Brit rockers to tie one on - or, in Paul's case, two, since he married first wife, Linda , there.
