BRAVO CAMERAS have been following former "Top Chef" contestant and fan favorite Jennifer Carroll around town. Carroll, a Daily News "Sexy Single," was recently captured having a girls'-night dinner at Sbraga (Broad & Pine), which "Top Chef" winner Kevin Sbraga opened last year. We're told the Bravo crew is shooting a new series that follows a handful of "Top Chef" contestants as they try to open restaurants, which Carroll, who spent several years at 10 Arts by Eric Ripert at the Ritz-Carlton, is now working on. She's scouting locations for a spot called Concrete Blonde, which she has described as a play on her hard-edged personality and blond hair and also a tribute to the alternative-rock band by the same name.

The Archbishop Ryan and St. Hubert's girls' swim teams finished exactly where their coaches expected in the Catholic League Swimming Championships at Villanova University Sunday. Ryan, with a first-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay, placed second with 365 points, and Hubert's was third with 283 points. Both finishes were the highest ever for the two schools. Both found themselves well behind Cardinal O'Hara, which had 492 points and its ninth straight team title under coach Jack Maguire.

ARLEN SPECTER has been hospitalized with a serious illness, friends of the former longtime U.S. senator have confirmed. One Specter friend asked people to keep him in thoughts and prayers. Specter, 82, announced in 2005 that he had Hodgkin's disease, for which he underwent chemotherapy. He was treated again in 2008, after the disease returned. Friends declined to comment Monday afternoon on the nature of Specter's hospitalization. Specter had been scheduled to appear as a surprise guest at last Wednesday's Stu Bykofsky Candidates Comedy Night, but his secretary canceled his long-booked appearance several days earlier, Bykofsky confirms, adding that Specter's assistant referred to the cancellation as "personal.

"Ghostbusters" actor Ernie Hudson and Douglas Bradley , Pinhead in the "Hellraiser" movies, will be in town this weekend shooting "Deer Crossing. " Hudson plays a police captain in the horror/crime thriller and replaces "Reservoir Dogs" actor Michael Madsen , who dropped out for personal reasons. Bradley plays a sheriff in the film, which shoots in Mayfair and near Franklin Mills. Christian Jude Grillo is the writer/director, and John Michael Kent produces the film in conjunction with Potent Media.

CHEF JENNIFER CARROLL , who became a fan favorite in her two seasons on Bravo's "Top Chef," is leaving 10 Arts by Eric Ripert at the Ritz-Carlton in October. The Somerton native's food made as much a name for her as her "Top Chef" tenure as foodies nationwide stopped at 10 Arts while in town to sample her cuisine. Carroll declined comment yesterday and referred us to her manager, Christopher Cabott, who said the chef had decided to leave to "pursue the options available to her at this stage of her career.

Dancing With the Stars , which premiered Monday, lost out on one of the greatest two-step men in history: Bill Clinton . The former leader of the free world tells Rachael Ray on a segment of her show set to air Tuesday that he was offered a spot on DWTS , but turned it down. "I told them I didn't have the time to train for it," says Clinton. "You know you actually go out there and you train, you really work at it. So I had to pass. But I think it's a hoot.

A "SAFE" STUNTMAN got a round of applause last night as he got up from a stretcher, after medics pulled him out of a Chevy Tahoe he was driving in a crash scene in the action/thriller being shot along JFK Boulevard between 18th and 19th streets. Onlookers feared for the stuntman after fire trucks and ambulances arrived, but he got up from the stretcher instead of being loaded into an ambulance. Actor Jason Statham ("The Expendables," "Transporter") shot, literally, yesterday afternoon at 15th & Moravian, in Center City.

EAGLES WIDE RECEIVER DeSean Jackson joined Philly rapper Freeway onstage Thursday night at The Village Club in Lancaster and performed a song that seemed to amp up the crowd. It's not Jackson's first foray into hip-hop: He also rhymed on a Gillie Da Kid track along with Sixer Lou Williams.   ‘Top Chef' heading to New York City? Gibson, a Darby native and Northeast High grad, will be seen dancing in a wheelchair as one of The Hipsters, a group of seniors who go back to high school and compete against Lea Michelle , Amber Riley , Chris Colfer and the rest of the "Glee" regulars. In the early-morning hours of June 13, six Philadelphia chefs began filling their trunks with meticulously organized containers and coolers, each vessel stocked with the raw materials necessary to execute an elaborate, $170-a-seat dinner at New York's James Beard House. One unmistakable foodstuff, however, had been fully prepared ahead of time. "We wanted to bring a little Philly up with us," said the event's organizer, Mémé's David Katz. "So we brought scrapple. " This was no processed slab of gray, store-bought mush.

The classy bistro was called 10 Arts by Eric Ripert, so there was little question who the star was on the glittering opening night in the rotunda of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel back in the spring of 2008. It was, of course, Eric Ripert, the legendary chef from New York's four-star seafoodery Le Bernardin, meeting and greeting tout Philadelphia, trailing in his wake an attractive but decidedly un-legendary young chef named Jennifer Carroll. Yes, she'd worked in Ripert's Manhattan kitchen and he'd picked her to run the Ritz property.
