"I'm married," Johnny Weir tweeted New Year's Eve. The Coatesville-born skating champ, who trained in Wilmington, tied the knot Friday with Jersey boyfriend Victor Voronov. "Wedding in summer! But all the official stuff is done now! No more livin' in sin!" was Weir's follow-up tweet. Voronov, a Georgetown Law School grad, is "prepping for the Jersey Bar in 2012," according to his Twitter profile. "Ringing in the New Year with my new hubby @JohnnyGWeir! #ELATED," Voronov tweeted.

Ever since he won his third straight national figure skating championship in 2006, Johnny Weir's career has played out like one of those dark Russian novels he enjoys. The Chester County native missed a bus and an Olympic medal in Turin, Italy, last year. He was seventh at the World Championships a month later. This year, he stumbled through a new long program at both the U.S. and World Championships, finishing third and eighth, respectively. Now, even though he's weary and frustrated and figure skating is in its off-season, Weir can't retreat to New York or St. Petersburg (Russia)

Johnny Weir didn't realize he had so many friends. Since he won the men's title at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Atlanta on Jan. 10, it seems he has heard from just about everybody he knows - and even a few people he had completely forgotten about. "I'm still suffering from the aftermath of it all," Weir said from Newark, Del., shortly after his victory. "Text messages, voice mails, e-mails. Everything is going crazy. I'm just trying to fit in sleeping, laundry - normal things like that.

With Johnny Weir, it's easy to forget. The boas and bangles, the easy charm and wince-provoking candor, the elegance and egotism, the Russian obsession and the reality show, the over-the-top theatricality and the understated grace, they all combine to obscure the reality that deep down - admittedly a little deeper than usual - the Chester County-born figure skater is an athlete. Weir has the fire. He loves to compete. And no grizzled hockey player likes winning any better.

The estate, in rural Norfolk, housed Philip, wife Queen Elizabeth II , and the rest of the royal family during the holidays. The otherwise quiet area was swarmed with media Tuesday after news broke that a woman's body was found Sunday in a remote part of the estate. Police are treating the case as a murder, but had yet to reveal any details.

From: Gonzalez, John We're one week into the Winter Olympics and all sorts of stuff has happened. Excluding the tragic death of the young Georgian luger, what's been the biggest story line so far? Very likely it's the fact that the Dutch speedskating fans in our hotel have not yet done irreparable damage to the adjacent Fogg 'n Suds. . . . Aside from that, I'd say it's either Johnny Weir's outfit or the fact that most of the U.S. stars have come through in the clutch - Shaun White, Lindsey Vonn, Shani Davis, even Evan Lysacek.

ATTEMPTS TO CONVINCE a few of us here that curling is a legitimate sport haven't succeeded - and the latest news out of Vancouver isn't helping the cause. Kristie Moore, an alternate on the Canadian women's Olympic curling team, is 5 months pregnant, becoming the third athlete in the history of the Winter Games to compete with a bun in the oven. Swedish figure skater Madga Julin took gold at the Games in Antwerp 90 years ago while in her first trimester, and Germany's Diana Sartor took fourth in the skeleton at the 2006 Winter Games in Torino.
