THE SAGA of Amanda Bynes gets crazier and sadder. The 27-year-old actress has been hospitalized for a mental-health evaluation (a/k/a a 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold) after a witness said he spotted flames on her pant legs from a small automobile gas-tank-related fire in the driveway of a Thousand Oaks, Calif., home. Deputies responding to a 9-1-1 call Monday night said Amanda had started the fire, according to Ventura County sheriff's Capt. Don Aguilar . Amanda grew up in Thousand Oaks.

Look into Miley Cyrus ' pixie peepers: innocent lass Hannah Montana is gone. "I've grown up," Miley, 20, tells the Daily Mail in a chat about her "We Can't Stop" vid, which has a drug reference. "We like to party / Dancing with Molly," sings Miley. Molly is a slang term for the drug ecstasy. The word's meaning depends on the ear of the beholder, says Miley: "If you're aged 10 [it sounds like] Miley . If you know what I'm talking about, then you know . . . You can Google me and you know what I'm up to - you know what the lyric is saying.

Pop swain Justin Bieber has been taking a beating in the press lately for a rash of delinquent behaviors. So what do you do when your life is going to hell in a mop bucket? You pull your big-boy pants halfway up and put on a great show. That's exactly what Bieber did Wednesday night in front of a frantic young crowd at the Wells Fargo Center. This is the same Believe Tour that brought Bieber to town eight months ago. Same set list. Same spectacle, including his entrance: lowered from the rafters while harnessed in gigantic wings like an archangel with sunglasses.

JUSTIN BIEBER can cross another item off his bucket list: Peeing in one. In a move sure to make Selena Gomez proud she's back with him, Bieber reportedly whizzed in a kitchen mop bucket earlier this year while partying at a New York nightclub. ( Note to Philly nightclub owners: The Biebs "performs" here on Wednesday.) TMZ.com released a video of Bieber's antic - would it be fair to say the footage was leaked? What about streamed? - while his buddies describe the action.

THE LAST day of school meant something different for everyone in my home. For my 8-year-old, Little Solomon, the end of school meant freedom from the tyranny of homework, bedtime and sitting still in math class. For my 11-year-old daughter, Eve, president of her fifth-grade class and co-founder of their Justin Bieber fan club, the end of school meant joining her female classmates for a good cry. And though a male student helpfully pointed out that they'd be apart for only three months, the Beliebers ignored his boyish naiveté and continued crying while Justin sang a sufficiently sappy song in the background.

DOLLAR DETAILS were unannounced, but it looks as if Marvel/Disney backed the Brink's truck up to Robert Downey Jr. 's house and started unloading. The man who turned Iron Man into Spider-Man's rival for Marvel movie supremacy, has signed up for two more "Avengers" films. Marvel announced yesterday that the actor will reprise his role as Iron Man/Tony Stark for "The Avengers 2" and "The Avengers 3," although there was no mention of "Iron Man 4. " Production on "Avengers 2" is to begin in March, with a theatrical release in May 2015.

A photog named Jeffrey Binion is suing Justin Bieber and one of his bodyguards, Hugo Hesny , claiming he was attacked when he tried to snap the singer outside Miami's Hit Factory recording studio. According to TMZ, the suit claims Hesny threw Binion against a wall and grabbed him by the throat. Hesny then showed off his (no doubt awesome-looking) holstered handgun, while a second goon took the memory card from Binion's camera. "Bieber's violent behavior toward photographers must end," Binion's lawyer, Russell S. Adler , tells TMZ. Adler claims Hesny doesn't have a Florida permit to carry a concealed weapon.

A FERRARI is way too much car for Justin Bieber . Especially now that he's gone off the Bieb end. According to TMZ.com, many neighbors in Justin's exclusive, gated Calabasas community say that the auto-tuned singer is out of tune when in his auto and that he and his friends have turned the ritzy neighborhood upside down. Justin has also been a menace in his Ferrari and on his motorcycle. Residents say that he frequently drives like a maniac and that while speeding out of his driveway Sunday, he almost hit a neighbor.

BETWEEN natural disasters and man-made disasters (leaving aside the science and politics that some natural disasters are man-made disasters), one day there might be a channel on cable, YouTube or beamed directly into your brain programmed solely with benefit concerts. Going back to the Concert for Bangladesh in 1971, there have been a lot of these big-name fundraisers over the years, for a variety of causes. The No Nukes Concert (1979) is self-explanatory. A series of Secret Policeman's Other Ball concerts raised money for Amnesty International.
