The Wings will travel to Rochester at 5 p.m. Saturday to take on the Knighthawks in the first round of the National Lacrosse League playoffs. The Wings will begin their run at a league-record eighth NLL championship at Blue Cross Arena in a game that will be televised live nationally on the CBS Sports Network. At 7-9, the Wings are the No. 3 seed in the East Division and enter the playoffs with the same record the defending champion Knighthawks had going into the playoffs last year.

The Rochester Knighthawks scored their season-high goal total in a 20-12 victory over the Wings in the National Lacrosse League last night at Blue Cross Arena. As Rochester was on its way to a 13-7 halftime lead behind six consecutive second-period goals, Wings coach Dave Huntley sent in Brandon Miller to replace starting goalie Rob Blasdell. Miller made 23 saves. Geoff Snider contributed three goals for the Wings (7-3), as did Athan Ianucci. Jake Bergey had two, and Kyle Sweeney, Pat Heim, A.J. Shannon, and Jason Crosbie each had one. The Rochester Knighthawks scored six goals in the final quarter and rallied for a 12-9 victory over the Wings in a National Lacrosse League game at the First Union Center last night. Jeff Ratcliffe scored three goals for the Wings (2-4) and six players - Ryan Traynor, Paul Cantabene, Tony Henderson, Keith Cromwell, Tom Marechek and Jeff Spano - scored one each. The Wings had controlled most of the game, jumping out to a 5-0 lead. Ratcliffe gave the Wings an 8-6 lead early in the final quarter, but the Knighthawks (5-2)

The Wings visit Rochester on Saturday at 5 p.m. to take on the Knighthawks in the East Division semifinals of the National Lacrosse League playoffs. The game will be shown on CBS Sports Network. The teams met last year in Rochester for a first-round game that the Knighthawks won, 14-13. This year, the teams have played three games, and the Knighthawks have won two of them. "We are approaching this as one game, a best-of-one series, that we have to win," Wings assistant captain Brett Manney said.

John Grant completed a hat trick by scoring Rochester's final two goals as the Knighthawks edged the Wings, 14-13, last night in a National Lacrosse League game at the Wachovia Center. The Wings lost their third straight and fell to 4-5 in the NLL East. Rochester (8-2) leads the division. The Wings trailed early but battled back to tie the score late in the third quarter. The game remained close the rest of the way. Grant led the Knighthawks with three goals and four assists, while Kyle Wailes paced the Wings with three goals and three assists.

The Wings overcame a slow start for a 10-8 comeback road win Saturday over Rochester, snapping a 10-game losing streak to the Knighthawks. Rochester scored four times inside three minutes for a 4-0 lead early before the Wings roared back.

THE WINGS lost their regular-season finale and will open the NLL playoffs at Rochester. The Wings fell to the Washington Stealth, 17-13, on Saturday night. Drew Westervelt had three goals to lead the Wings. The playoff game will be held this weekend. The Knighthawks hold a 2-1 advantage in the regular season over the Wings.

The Rochester Knighthawks romped past the Wings 22-12 in the season opener at the Wells Fargo Center in what Wings coach Johnny Mouradian called a "slug fest" when fist fights burst out with seconds left in the fourth quarter. Wings defenseman Tom Hajek and Knighthawks defenseman Tyler Burton were ejected after exchanging punches with about 25 seconds left in the game. The game resumed but stopped about 10 seconds later as each of the 12 players on the field erupted in fights with opposing players.

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - The Minnesota Swarm defeated the Wings, 15-10, in a National Lacrosse League game at Xcel Energy Stadium Saturday night. The Wings must defeat the Knighthawks in Rochester, N.Y., on Saturday to guarantee home-field advantage in the first round of the playoffs, which begin the weekend of May 4. Dan Dawson led the Wings (7-8) with five goals and an assist, tying the single-season record of 100 points in a season set by former Wings forward Athan Iannucci in 2008.
