There are times when you can't believe what your eyes are seeing on the TV screen. Such was the case this week during Larry the Cable Guy's Christmas Spectacular on VH1. Larry got all dressed up - laundered overalls - for this holiday celebration, which featured a lambasting of Santa in the style of the old Dean Martin Celebrity Roast on NBC. And what a lineup he brought together to jolly up St. Nick. In addition to George Wendt (Norm on Cheers) as Santa, there was Lisa Lampanelli as Mrs. Claus; Flavor Flav, George Wallace and Katt Williams as the Three Wise Men; Jim "Goatboy" Breur as the Easter Bunny; Vicki Lawrence in full Mama's Family guise; and a tuxedoed Tony Orlando.

LISA LAMPANELLI is old enough (52, but who's counting?) to remember and respect Philadelphia as a Broadway tryout town. So when the chance came to test the waters here with her New York-bound (she hopes) theatrical production "Skinny Bitch: Not a Stand-Up Comedy Show," in the Kimmel Center's intimate Innovation Studio, she jumped. "It's not about selling a lot of tickets, filling a Radio City Music Hall or Carnegie Hall" - which she's done - "it's about developing the work," Lampanelli reflected, after her opening weekend of SRO shows here.

LUCY , BELOVED golden retriever of 93.3 WMMR DJ Pierre Robert - a pooch met and petted by rock stars that included Judas Priest , Bon Jovi and Chrissy Hynde of the Pretenders - died Friday of multiple organ failure. She was 13 1/2. The dog had become a station mascot of sorts in recent years, Robert said last night. He began taking her to work when she began having orthopedic issues a few years ago. She had chiropractic, acupuncture and water-therapy treatments over the years and last week fell very ill, Robert said.
