We know first lady Michelle Obama will look divine at this weekend's inaugural celebrations, whether she recycles an oldie or opts for a piece of new couture. But all eyes will be on the teen and tween set to usher in a fresh era of Obama fashion - Malia and Sasha. Oh, the anticipation. Four years ago, the nation oohed and awwed at the sight of the young sisters in darling crewcuts by J. Crew coats. This time we wonder: Will they do cute or edgy or classic? Will they do designer floor-length confections at the ball, like their mother?

Glenn Beck has issued a tepid apology after mocking President Obama's 11-year-old daughter. I do not accept his apology. Not because I am unforgiving. I don't accept it because it is halfhearted, and Beck's latest outburst is part of a larger pattern of personal attacks on the president's family. Previously, Beck has made sexist comments about Michelle Obama's appearance, falsely asserted that Obama's parents abandoned him for Marxism, and claimed to have taken a cane from one of Obama's aunts.

WASHINGTON - President Obama ordered the commando raid that killed Osama bin Laden after deciding the risks were outweighed by the possibility "of us finally getting our man" following a decade of frustration, he said in an interview broadcast last night. The helicopter raid "was the longest 40 minutes of my life," Obama told CBS' "60 Minutes," with the possible exception of when his daughter Malia became sick with meningitis as an infant. Monitoring the commando-raid operation in the White House Situation Room a week ago, Obama said he and top aides "had a sense of when gunfire and explosions took place" halfway around the world, and knew when one of the helicopters carrying Navy SEALs made an unplanned hard landing.

Leaning forward, Dave Patnaude grabbed a handle of the 42-foot boat as it cruised offshore, spotting for the driver. "Go ahead, dude, you're good!" he shouted above the roar of engines to boat driver Peter Mazzo, who lowered the throttle. The long, yellow boat dubbed No Discipline growled as it hunkered down as if to grip the ocean. It bucked a little and then began a wind-rushing, sea-spraying flight across the water at speeds of up to 90 miles an hour. Less than a week after a high-speed boating accident claimed the lives of three Gloucester County brothers, members of the New Jersey Performance Powerboat Club gathered to demonstrate that their sport involves not only speed, but safety.

Lindsay Lohan had a good day Wednesday. The sometime actor and Playboy starlet was showered with praise by L.A. Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner at a hearing to determine what progress the miscreant and ex-con had made in her long road to rehabilitation while she is on probation in her jewelry theft case. As LiLo's lawyer, Shawn Holley , explained earlier, LiLo has been a good girl, and proud of it. "Miss Lohan, you have actually done your work, and not only done it, but done it early," Sautner told LiLo.

Some had tears in their eyes. Some had chills. Some tried to be dignified but couldn't stop themselves from whooping and hollering for the leader of the free world, standing just a few feet away and telling them he was proud of them. To Antoine Smith, graduating from Science Leadership Academy on Monday night and then being in the same room with President Obama on Tuesday night was "surreal. " "I was thinking, 'Yo, that's the man who runs things. This is the dude who runs everything ,' " said Smith, 18, who is headed to Delaware State University in the fall.

RE GLENN Beck's reaction to Malia Obama's question "Did you plug the hole yet, Daddy?": There's an old saying, "Better to hold your tongue and be thought a fool than open your mouth and prove it. " I didn't see you attacking G.W. Bush's daughters, even when they were in trouble for underage drinking. But Malia only asked her father a question, and you attacked her like she committed the crime of the century. You are a racist and no one can change your attitude, but when you attack a child, you're the most dangerous person on this earth.
