First lady Michelle Obama's breezy, winter floral strapless dress Thursday night was everything . Obama joined the hubby in hosting Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife, Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau, at a White House state dinner in honor of Canada. As a nod to our friendly neighboring country to the north, Obama opted for a Jason Wu - the same designer she chose for both inaugural balls. Wu was born in Taiwan, but grew up in Vancouver. This phenomenal silk gown is straight from Wu's fall 2016 collection that debuted on the New York Fashion Week runways in February.

We know first lady Michelle Obama will look divine at this weekend's inaugural celebrations, whether she recycles an oldie or opts for a piece of new couture. But all eyes will be on the teen and tween set to usher in a fresh era of Obama fashion - Malia and Sasha. Oh, the anticipation. Four years ago, the nation oohed and awwed at the sight of the young sisters in darling crewcuts by J. Crew coats. This time we wonder: Will they do cute or edgy or classic? Will they do designer floor-length confections at the ball, like their mother?

Glenn Beck has issued a tepid apology after mocking President Obama's 11-year-old daughter. I do not accept his apology. Not because I am unforgiving. I don't accept it because it is halfhearted, and Beck's latest outburst is part of a larger pattern of personal attacks on the president's family. Previously, Beck has made sexist comments about Michelle Obama's appearance, falsely asserted that Obama's parents abandoned him for Marxism, and claimed to have taken a cane from one of Obama's aunts.

Mindy McCready 's friends and family mourned her at a service Tuesday at Crossroads Baptist Church in her hometown of Fort Myers, Fla. Two video screens displayed photos of the country singer as her songs played in the background, including "I'm Still Here" and "Ten Thousand Angels. " The singer, who committed suicide at 37, was eulogized by her mother, Gayle Inge . "Mindy adored her two children. She wanted them to know that," Inge said. "She went to heaven. She is no longer sick.

WASHINGTON - President Obama ordered the commando raid that killed Osama bin Laden after deciding the risks were outweighed by the possibility "of us finally getting our man" following a decade of frustration, he said in an interview broadcast last night. The helicopter raid "was the longest 40 minutes of my life," Obama told CBS' "60 Minutes," with the possible exception of when his daughter Malia became sick with meningitis as an infant. Monitoring the commando-raid operation in the White House Situation Room a week ago, Obama said he and top aides "had a sense of when gunfire and explosions took place" halfway around the world, and knew when one of the helicopters carrying Navy SEALs made an unplanned hard landing.

Some tried to be dignified but couldn't stop themselves from whooping and hollering for the leader of the free world, standing just a few feet away and telling them he was proud of them. To Antoine Smith, graduating from Science Leadership Academy on Monday night and then being in the same room with President Obama on Tuesday night was "surreal. " "I was thinking, 'Yo, that's the man who runs things. This is the dude who runs everything ,' " said Smith, 18, who is headed to Delaware State University in the fall.

Bo has 'star quality,' Obama says The first family officially introduced its newest member to the media yesterday. Confident of his mandate, Bo, the Portuguese water dog, strutted across the South Lawn of the White House, attended by President Obama, first lady Michelle Obama and presidential daughters Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7. The president observed that the first dog has "star quality. " Michelle Obama handled most of the leash duties, although Malia also took a turn.

Malia Obama & 'Girls'? Girls' star Lena Dunham , familiar with attacks from conservative wags, is inviting yet more controversy: She has hired one of the first daughters as an unpaid intern. The New York Post says incoming high school senior Malia Obama , 17, will spend the rest of the summer working for the actor, writer, and producer. HBO has yet to comment on the report.
