THE BIG NEWS out of Stu Bykofsky's Candidates Comedy Night last night was the serious news that the amount of money raised in its 24 years has exploded beyond the half-million mark. The exact figure couldn't be computed immediately, but with U.S. Rep. Bob Brady calling out to three donors demanding $500 apiece (and getting it) and an auction of sports memorabilia raking in the bids, the donations rang like a berserk cash register. For instance, an autographed Donovan McNabb jersey, with an autograph that Stu Bykofsky refused to vouch for, went for $1,000.

Courtney lost $27 mil It's not like it's a big deal or anything, but Courtney Love already has spent $27 million of her late husband Kurt Cobain 's estate. "I know that's a lifetime of money to most people," Courtney tells Britain's Sunday Times newspaper, "but I'm a big girl, it's rock 'n roll, it's Nirvana money, I had to let it go. I make enough to live on, I'm financially solvent, I focus on what I make now. " The Hole frontwoman had a unique system for keeping track of the cash.

Don't think Family Guy guru Seth MacFarlane will be asked to join the National Organization for Women anytime soon. Shock, if not exactly awe, gripped some viewers Sunday night when the first-time Oscar host launched into a surreal monologue about women. He opened with a musical tribute to actresses who opted to appear onscreen topless. It went downhill from there. Some zingers: Django is the story "of a man fighting to get back his woman, who's been subject to unthinkable violence, or as, Chris Brown and Rihanna call it, a date movie," said Seth, 39, referring to the two singers' troubled history.

Keira Knightley , 27, makes a dangerous claim in the March issue of Marie Claire: The world of movies, fashion, and TV isn't real . It's not substantial. Not worth dying for. In a most cowardly act that denigrates her status as public property, Hamlet and Titanic star Kate Winslet has become married in secret, away from fans, from snoopers, from paparazzi. Harsh! The twice-divorced Kate, 37, tied her immortal soul in New York to a man named Ned Rocknroll . (Could anyone take seriously a guy with that last name?) So underground were the nuptials, the couple's parents weren't invited. Kate's boyish Titanic costar Leonardo DiCaprio gave the bride away.
