"A life of happiness. " That's what Miley Cyrus, 19, expects now that she's engaged to Liam Hemsworth , 22, one of the youngsters who kills for food 'n' fun on Hunger Games . "I'm so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam," Miley told People. (Do the kids in Hunger Games look forward to a happy life? We think not.) Before she met Liam, says Miley, she had no concept of happiness: "I was pretty much like, ‘I'm going to die alone?

The song Miley Cyrus sang on Saturday while astride a giant hot dog suspended from the rafters of the Wells Fargo Center is called "Someone Else. " It's the last cut on Bangerz , the 2013 album whose breakout singles "We Can't Stop" and "Wrecking Ball" were accompanied by outré videos making her the latest pop culture brat whose vulgar antics allegedly signal the end of civilization as we know it. When Cyrus sang "I've turned into someone else," on Bangerz , she was surely referring to putting her child-star career as Hannah Montana behind her, as well as shutting the door on former fiance Liam Hemsworth.

The novels of Nicholas Sparks are godsends for Hollywood ingenues, not to mention Hollywood. As many of his books tell stories of young love clinging to the trellis of hope, they make ideal vehicles for actresses transitioning from teenage to adult roles. Sparks' familiar motifs of love blooming across class divisions and despite unforeseen tragedy and family feuds have made him the undisputed Kaiser of Kleenex. In the tradition of Mandy Moore, Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried, Miley Cyrus - the artist formerly known as Hannah Montana - does Sparks in The Last Song, an effective, and relatively restrained, tearjerker for daddies and their daughters.

LET'S HAVE a hearty Tattle round of applause for Miley Cyrus , who has been voted the worst celebrity influence of 2010. Amazingly, the dis-honor wasn't voted by angry parents whose tween daughters wanted stripper poles for Christmas, but by the followers of AOL's JSYK.com (Just So You Know) - a website targeting 9- to 15-year-olds. Miley, 18, who successfully defended her crown from 2009, tallied 58 percent of the 99,000 votes. BANGShowbiz.com says Miley "beat off" competition from rehabbers Demi Lovato and Lindsay Lohan ; "Teen Mom" star Amber Portwood ; Kanye West , who behaved like Kanye West; and "Gossip Girl" star Chace Crawford ,who was arrested for possession of marijuana.

Miley Cyrus' highly anticipated single, "We Can't Stop," has finally arrived, and it's just, like, la-da-di-da-di, we know you like to party and do whatever you want, Miley. We know. Not many 20-year-old triple threats have had as many phases as Miley Cyrus, and with the release of "We Can't Stop," she's entered Phase III. Miley clearly knows the formula. Phase I: She was Destiny Hope Cyrus, the cute little girl with the OK voice and the kooky smile who just so happened to be Billy Ray's daughter.

It was the collective "ewww"; heard around the Twitterverse. Miley Cyrus - a.k.a. former Disney innocent Hannah Montana - shocked even the unshockable during MTV's Music Video Awards Sunday, sending tweeters into overdrive when she bent over in her flesh-colored two piece and rubbed her hiney against Robin Thicke's crotch. Talk about blurred lines. What? Is she serious? Why does she have that big foam finger? And what in the heck is she doing? Twerking, baby. Here is a primer: Twerking can be done alone or with a partner.

Miley: I'm authentic Deal with it: Miley Cyrus is grown up. Like for real. And her adult image, brought home on her new LP Bangerz , is authentic. Not fake, like the image Disney promotes. "I'm not Disney, where they have, like, an Asian girl, a black girl, and a white girl, to be politically correct, and, like, everyone has bright-colored T-shirts," Miley, 21, tells W magazine. So grow'd up is she, Miley has been taking off her clothes in her music vids and promo pics like there's no tomorrow.

An online storm broke out this week over Urban Outfitters Inc., and it intensified Thursday night when teen celebrity Miley Cyrus hopped onto Twitter to share a few thoughts of her own. The TV/movie/music star's comments, which implicitly attacked the company for its founder's support of Republican causes, began not with the firepower of a high-paid marketing machine. Rather, they capped a frenzy that started with a single shout-out from a jewelry designer in Chicago with a Twitter account.

Does acting like a tramp mean you are a tramp? No, says philosophical ethics prof Miley Cyrus in response to critics who suggest that her "Can't Be Tamed" music vid is far too sexually suggestive for a 17-year-old child. "I'm not trying to be 'slutty,' " Miley says. "I'm not trying to be like, go to the club and get a bunch of guys. . . . What I'm trying to do is to make a point with my record and look consistent, in the way my record sounds and the way I dress. " So, is she just acting inarticulate?

"IM NOT TRYING to be 'slutty,' " Miley Cyrus said in a recent interview. So? Kareem Abdul-Jabbar isn't trying to be tall. Doesn't make him short. "I'm not trying to be like, go to the club and get a bunch of guys," Miley added. "What I'm trying to do is to make a point with my record and look consistent, in the way my record sounds and the way I dress. " And that would be . . . ? Not slutty? For many who still want to think of Miley as "Hannah Montana," her "sexy" new look and her provocative video for her new single "Can't Be Tamed," are jarring, controversial and skin-baring.
