Whether it's singing Miley Cyrus songs on the bus or upsetting top seeds in the district and state tournaments, the Hatboro-Horsham field hockey team has been making a lot of noise recently. The singing is what third-year coach Laura Swezey said is a "pleasant" example of the chemistry that she points to as the catalyst for her team's recent upsets of some of the area's best squads. For the players, singing as a team before and after games is a way to stay motivated and remain positive.

Confusing pick Let me get this straight, Inquirer Editorial Board ("Reelect Christie," Oct. 20). You state that Christie 1) wrongly demonized teachers; 2) abandoned a school-aid formula that attached funding to at-risk children; 3) should forget an income-tax cut that would favor the wealthy and unnecessarily reduce state revenue; 4) is retrograde in his opposition to same-sex marriage and funding for Planned Parenthood; 5) should improve his poor environmental record; and 6) has shown an unfortunate tendency to be self-serving.

Sinéad's advice to Miley Would-be enfant terrible Miley Cyrus finally is getting a reality check, thanks to one of her heroes. In an open letter, Sinéad O'Connor tells the hyper-sluttified Hannah Montana alum she's deluded to think "that it is in any way 'cool' to be naked and licking sledgehammers in your videos. " Sinéad praises Miley as an artist, but warns, "you will obscure your talent by allowing yourself to be pimped. " The music biz "doesn't give a [bleep] about you," Sinéad writes.

Be [expletive] presidential," Jackson, 64, tells Playboy. "I grew up in a society where I could say, 'It ain't.' . . . But when I'm out presenting myself to the world . . . I [expletive] conjugate. MILEY CYRUS really is a pinhead. Speaking to London's Daily Star , probably to promote her new album with the pornish title, "Bangerz," the "Wrecking Ball" singer told how she was nearly killed by a ball. A bowling ball. Miley explained that the last time she hit the lanes, she "almost died" and she's vowed to never bowl again. In a scene out of a cartoon, Miley claims that her fingers got wedged inside the ball and she ended up sliding down the lane before scoring a strike with her body.

Miley Cyrus is a child! That's why she's been acting naughty lately. The tempest-in-a-teapot controversy du jour says she spent her entire childhood workin' for a living, so she's trying to make up for lost time. "I was an adult when I was supposed to be a kid. So now I'm an adult and I'm acting like a kid," the twerkadelic singer and would-be sex symbol tells Harper's Bazaar. Miley, 20, is not having a breakdown, as some have claimed. "I've always been around this industry, so I didn't have my mind blown or become obsessed with being famous," she says.
