FOLLOWING the death of reality-TV star Shain Gandee , MTV has officially canceled "Buckwild. " "After careful consideration, MTV will not be moving forward with season two of 'Buckwild' in West Virginia," MTV said, in a statement. "We love the cast and the show and this was not an easy decision, but given Shain's tragic passing and essential presence on the show, we felt it was not appropriate to continue without him. Instead, we are working on a meaningful way to pay tribute to his memory on our air and privately.

As hundreds of tearful friends and fans filed past two closed coffins Sunday in Charleston, W. Va., a slideshow of family photos showed the simple country life that Buckwild reality TV star Shain Gandee lived long before the cameras started rolling. Set to country music were snapshots of the 21-year-old before his 15 minutes of TV fame: as a uniformed pee wee football player, in a tuxedo for prom, kissing a bride. In some, he wore hunting camouflage, holding a slain buck by its antlers and displaying a batch of gray squirrels.

Bam Margera's kitchen, in his words, "just got Jackson Pollock-ed. " Neon paint drips from nearly every surface - refrigerator, cabinets, counters. The Jackass star was newly back from an international tour with his band, FFU - whose full name is unprintable, he says with a grin - and simply let loose. "I usually paint when I'm on tour, but I was on this really nice tour bus with a really nice driver," he said. "When I paint, the whole place just gets Jackson Pollock-ed. " Margera, 33, has been painting for only about three years, but his mother says he's always had an artistic streak.

DURING THE 2012 presidential election, Ted Nugent said that if President Obama were re-elected, the longtime gun-control opponent would either be "dead or in jail. " He left out a third option: At the Capitol. U.S. Rep. Steve Stockman , R-Texas, showing as much good sense as we expect from congressmen these days, has invited the Nuge to be his guest at the president's State of the Union address. Nugent has referred to the Obama administration as "evil" and "America-hating," and has compared it to coyotes who needed to be shot.

* EMILY OWENS, M.D. 9 p.m. Tuesday, CW 57. * UNDEREMPLOYED. 10 p.m. Tuesday, MTV.   IT'S BEEN a tough fall for TV's women doctors. On ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," Seattle Grace has lost one, and another's now legless. On Fox, "The Mob Doctor" (Jordana Spiro) spends her spare time removing screwdrivers and other foreign objects from felons, thanks to a deal made with the neighborhood devil. And Mindy Kalin's ob-gyn on "The Mindy Project" struggles to find a man. They're both also fighting for viewers, though they have more than Dr. Zoe Hart (Rachel Bilson)

If you don't keep a pair of pruning shears handy around reality shows, they will begin to reproduce. So ABC's The Bachelor inevitably led to The Bachelorette and, while no one was watching, Bachelor Pad . Same thing on MTV. The Real World and Road Rules cross-pollinated into The Challenge , a rowdy twenty-something competition show that recruited contestants from the aforementioned MTV reality staples. This may have escaped your notice, but The Challenge , which returns at 10 p.m. Wednesday, has evolved into a remarkably sturdy franchise of its own, with different settings, twists and subtitles ( Battle of the Exes ; Gauntlet ; Fresh Meat )

What is it they say about old dogs? Every year MTV shows the Grammys exactly how to pull off a lively, entertaining awards show: funny host, minimal number of categories with awards handed out briskly, maximum allotment of stars performing big production numbers, and a pace that starts fast and accelerates. And every year, the Grammys (even the name sounds musty) put on the same stagnant spectacle. As Peter, Paul & Mary sang, probably at last year's Grammys, "When will they ever learn?"

There are several different versions of Aziz Ansari, the comic from South Carolina renowned for his wiry, observational snark and slacker cool. There is the perpetual hipster doing standup about M.I.A., Bonnarroo, and Kanye West (a steady subject of his routines). An ever-increasing legion of fans will see that version of Ansari this weekend at the Merriam Theater, or in his July run at the Borgata in Atlantic City. There is the casual sketch comedian who sharpened his chops at NYC's Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and was part of an improvisational trio, Human Giant, with its own MTV show in 2007.

Please! Say it ain't so! Rumors stir the alcoholic waters of Jersey Shore that MTV may cancel the show due to star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi 's babymaking! Snooks says, yep, she and fiance Jionni LaValle have an egg under the light, and now, say shadowy Sources , MTV wonders if it can go forward with Season 6 this year. I mean, MTV official mouths say that's crazy. MAYOR NUTTER talked Fox 29 out of airing a video that captured him spanking the buttocks of a blonde with whom he drank and bowled at North Bowl (909 N. 2nd), say sources familiar with the situation. A Fox 29 viewer recorded Nutter and his female companion having a blast about 2 a.m. one day last summer, sources say. We're told the cellphone video is of high-enough quality that you can hear the two butt slaps Nutter delivered to the woman, identified by our sources only as Andrea , as she got up to bowl.
