Eight years after Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction, some unexpected controversy returned to the Super Bowl halftime show. M.I.A., appearing on stage with Madonna and Nicki Minaj to perform "Give Me All Your Luvin'," flipped the middle finger to a camera before a cutaway. The song contains an inappropriate word, which she did not say, using the middle finger in place of the word. NBC went to a wide view of the stage, but it was too late as M.I.A.'s middle finger gesture could be seen.

EIGHT YEARS after Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction, some unexpected controversy returned to the Super Bowl halftime show. M.I.A., appearing with Madonna and Nicki Minaj to perform "Give Me All Your Luvin'," flipped the middle finger to a camera before a cutaway. The song contains an inappropriate word, which she did not appear to say, although it was difficult to hear her clearly. NBC went to a blurred wide view of the stage in an effort to cut out the shot, but it was too late as M.I.A.'s middle-finger gesture could be seen.

Finding the perfect wig for your Halloween costume can be the difference between a trick or a treat. Especially this year when our celebrities du jour - many of whom do scary things all year long - are so creative when it comes to coifs. Think Nicki Minaj's ombré, white-to-pink tresses; singer Miguel's dark pompadour; and the signature Afro of Philly's own Questlove Thompson that isn't complete without a perfect power-to-the-people pick. "The wig makes the character," said Lois Arnold, owner of Lois A. Wigs on South Fourth Street.

"I am the greatest entertainer the world has ever seen," Lil Wayne told the crowd near the end of his show at the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday night. In different circumstances, that might seem a bit of a stretch, but in that moment, it would have been difficult to argue the point. Stoked in no small part by Dwayne Carter's own claims, the debate over whether he is the best rapper alive rages on, but at the top of his game, he is the top of the game. After an eight-month prison term on weapons charges and a middling attempt to incorporate rock elements into his sparse, sweaty Southern hip-hop, he headed back to his roots.

Love is fleeting - or maybe just ill-advised. Ryan Reynolds , 34, and Charlize Theron , 36 on Sunday, broke up in late July after only two months of dating, reports Us Weekly. He wanted a summer fling, she wanted to settle down. Reynolds is hot off a divorce from Scarlett Johansson , who reportedly was the one to end the two-year marriage in December. Is it coincidence that all this, um, coincides with Reynolds' just-released what-if-your-life-were-different flick The Change-Up ?
