After three years at Church Farm, Howard Sellars decided to play his final season of high school basketball at Coatesville. "Coatesville is where I live," the 6-foot-1, 160-pound senior guard said. "I just wanted to come home and give the city what they haven't seen in years. " Wednesday night, with Sellars as the catalyst, the Red Raiders moved closer to their first PIAA Class AAAA state title since 2001 with a 58-52 victory over Norristown in a second-round game at Spring-Ford.

HERSHEY, Pa. - Father Judge's Joe Galasso did not know what to do. Galasso took down Central Dauphin's Tyson Dippery in overtime Saturday night at the PIAA state wrestling tournament to clinch a Class AAA championship at 138 pounds, 3-1. After he paid his respects to his opponent, Galasso sprinted toward his coach and spontaneously leaped into his arms. "He was more ready for it than I was," said Galasso, a junior. "That's the first time I ever ended up on top. " Galasso, swarmed by friends and showered with praise in the Giant Center tunnel, left his constantly buzzing phone for later, savoring the postmatch excitement.

Unorthodox and deceptively strong. That's how Perkiomen Valley coach Tim Walsh describes the wrestling style of junior Nick Giangiulio. Walsh should know. He wrestled Giangiulio every day after school last week to get him prepared for the Class AAA Southeast Regional tournament Friday and Saturday. The practice paid off. Giangiulio won regional gold at 152 pounds at Pottstown to qualify for next weekend's state championships in Hershey. He won a 4-2 decision in overtime of the finals against Norristown freshman Rashon Lusane, who had won his league and district titles.
