Authorities are trying a new technique to solve a cold case in Camden, using a TV-news style short video to generate information. On Monday, Jason Laughlin of the Camden County Prosecutor's Office released the video featuring the murder of Rasheeda Pegues, 25, who was shot fatally in a parking lot outside her home in the 2000 block of Ferry Avenue on Dec. 12. Authorities do not have a motive for the slaying. In the video, Laughlin interviews the investigating officer, Investigator Lance Saunders, and the victims' mother and sister.

Neighbors of Valley Forge Elementary School in Wayne are making a racket about the planned removal of their local tennis court to make way for a parking lot. "It's absolutely a shame," said Donald Detwailer, 83, who said he had been playing on the court for 35 years. "There are many other ways of doing this. " The Tredyffrin/Easttown School District plans to build a 24-space parking lot in front of the school on Walker Road. The elimination of the tennis courts, located behind the school, will limit the hard surfacing that blocks rainwater absorption.

Looking at the north side of Philadelphia City Hall, most people see a broad sidewalk that should be available for pedestrians hustling up from the train station or crossing town for work or entertainment. Glassboro police looking for two vandals responsible for a weekend tire slashing spree in the college town are studying surveillance video showing two men in one parking lot were several vehicles were targeted. During a three-day spree Easter weekend, the Glassboro Police Department took about 16 reports of tires slashed at different locations, many of them belonging to Rowan University students. "The reports stem from off campus," said Rowan spokesman Joe Cardona. Initially, all of the victims were affiliated with Rowan either as a student or as a guest, police said.

KAUFMAN, TEXAS - Kaufman County District Attorney Mike McLelland took no chances after one of his assistant prosecutors was gunned down two months ago. McLelland said he carried a gun everywhere he went and took extra care when answering the door at his home. "I'm ahead of everybody else because, basically, I'm a soldier," the 23-year Army veteran said in an interview less than two weeks ago. On Saturday, he and his wife were found shot to death in their rural home just outside the town of Forney, about 20 miles from Dallas.

REGGIE WADE and Monique McMillian-Wade got engaged in a Walmart parking lot, wore gold-and-black T-shirts to their wedding and got married at a funeral. "I didn't think you could do that at a funeral," McMillian-Wade said. "I never even heard of that on TV. " Their March 9 nuptials took place during the funeral of Wade's uncle, Gregory "Chops" Scott, who allegedly had been gunned down by his own cousin and another man Feb. 27 outside Scott's West Philly home. Wade, 39, said that in a family big on promises, he and his bride wanted to honor the promise Scott had made, so they decided to combine their wedding with his funeral.

A mixed-use affordable-housing development is moving forward in Norristown despite opposition from some residents. The plan calls for 96 one- and two-bedroom apartments, as well as 5,000 square feet of retail space, at DeKalb and Airy Streets. Sixty units would be reserved for low- and moderate-income residents. The site is now a parking lot owned by Montgomery County. The county deemed it underused, and in February agreed to transfer ownership through a profit-sharing redevelopment deal.

At East Ridge Pizzeria & Restaurant, an employee was mopping the floor late Friday with the door ajar when screams from the Willingboro shopping center's parking lot caught his attention. Even as he called 911, he heard that someone was run over. "There was a white car parked sideways and there was a person underneath," he said he saw after police arrived. The person who was struck was 17-year-old Willingboro High School senior De'Jour Benson, police said Tuesday. Benson, a member of the school football team, was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he died.
