WHERE IS baby Saanvi? One day after police discovered the body of her murdered grandmother in the family's King of Prussia high-rise apartment, authorities continued their desperate search for the child, who has been missing since the Monday murder and is presumed kidnapped. Relatives said that thugs had no reason to target their family. "We don't have any suspicion of anything, no threats on anyone," the girl's uncle Ram Venna told reporters Tuesday morning outside the Upper Merion Township Police Department, where the family spent the day with investigators.

The Marquis apartment complex in King of Prussia was draped with yellow crime-scene tape Tuesday as firefighters drained the pool, police academy cadets swept lawns and drainage ditches, and law enforcement authorities continued looking into the abduction of a 10-month-old girl and the slaying of her grandmother. Local, state, and federal authorities are jointly investigating the abduction of the girl, Saanvi Venna, and the killing of her grandmother, Satayvathi Venna, 61. Authorities gave few details of either incident Tuesday, citing concern for the baby's safety.

"It's been 48 hours," Prasad Sanikommu said softly, leaving the audience to fill in the rest. Two full days since 10-month-old Saanvi Venna was last seen, since she was taken from the King of Prussia apartment where her grandmother had been killed. He was addressing supporters, media crews, and members of the Indian diaspora around the world. More than 200 people attended the candlelight vigil Wednesday evening at Heuser Park in King of Prussia, surrounding Sanikommu and other relatives as they prayed and pleaded for the girl's safe return, bathed in fluorescent camera lights that were a harsh contrast to the warm glow of the candles.

THE SEARCH FOR Saavni Venna, a 10-month-old girl who was abducted from an apartment in King of Prussia after her grandmother was murdered, continued Monday night with Upper Merion Police, Montgomery County detectives and the FBI investigating. "If somebody finds my baby, please bring my baby back," Shiva Prasad, Saavni's father, said to reporters Monday night outside Upper Merion Police headquarters, on Valley Forge Drive in King of Prussia. "Don't do any harm to the baby," Prasad said about 11:30 p.m., his voice wavering and his eyes welling up with tears as relatives and neighbors looked on from inside police headquarters.

A Maryland man has been identified as the hit-and-run driver who struck two pedestrians Sunday in King of Prussia. Charles E. Haney, 42, of Barton, Md., and his white van were located at the Motel 6 in King of Prussia and is cooperating with the investigation, Upper Merion police said. Branden Thornton, 18, and Anthony Bonet, 22, were walking along the shoulder of S. Gulph Rd. about 9 p.m. when they were struck by a white van. The vehicle fled the scene leaving Thornton seriously injured, said police.
