RICHMOND, Va. - A furious Drexel comeback, like so many of its shots, fell just short. Trailing by 15 points near the midway point of the second half, Drexel cut the margin to two before falling to George Mason, 60-54, at the Richmond Coliseum in Saturday's quarterfinals of the Colonial Athletic Association tournament. The Dragons, preseason CAA favorites, ended their season 13-18. George Mason (18-13) will meet top-seeded Northeastern in Sunday's 2 p.m. semifinal. This game was like a microcosm of the season in which Drexel lost 10 games by six or fewer points.

ATLANTIC CITY - Billy Ward has had quite the career while wrestling for Buena. He entered Friday's pre-quarterfinal round of the NJSIAA state championships at Boardwalk Hall with a school-record 136 wins, four district titles, and four region titles. But there is one milestone missing: a state title. Ward (31-3) came one step closer to reaching that final milestone, beating Point Pleasant Boro's Ryan Budzek, 7-4, to advance to the quarterfinals for the 126-pound weight class.
