Arrests in Hoffman case Police in Manhattan Tuesday night arrested three men and a woman in connection with the 50 bags of heroin found in Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman 's apartment after his death Sunday of an apparent drug overdose. A source tells CNN that police confiscated 350 small plastic bags allegedly containing heroin that were marked with the street brand names "black list" and "red bull. " Neither matches the brands found in the Capote star's pad. There is a possibility that the group did supply Hoffman, say law enforcement sources who tell CNN that one of the men, musician Robert Vineberg , 57, had Hoffman's phone number stored on his cellphone.

OVER THE COURSE of Tattle's lengthy tattling career, virtually every nationality, ethnic group and religious sect has been offended by something done by some celebrity, movie or TV show. Today, we bring you the Hindus, who are mad at Selena Gomez for having a sparkling bindi on her head in an Indian-themed performance of "Come & Get It" at the MTV Movie Awards. Leaders at the Universal Society of Hinduism want Selena to apologize for wearing the religious adornment. "The bindi on the forehead is an ancient tradition in Hinduism and has religious significance," Rajan Zed told World Entertainment News Network.

If all goes according to plan, Selena Gomez's 18th birthday celebration won't turn up in the tabloids or the scandalous Web site TMZ. "Oh my goodness!" she says. "TMZ? You are not seeing me on TMZ!" She turned 18 yesterday, the night before her big-screen debut in "Ramona and Beezus," and it was "going out to dinner with my grandma and grandpa, who're flying out for my birthday" - all part of her anti-tabloid life and career strategy. "I'm boring. I spend time with my family, hang out with my mom and with a few friends.

Hazel Day fidgeted with her iPhone. She was remarkably quiet. If an out-of-body experience had a look , the Mount Airy teen had it in spades. No wonder: She was about to meet Selena Gomez face-to-face, one-on-one, in person and in private. Gomez, perhaps best known for her Disney TV show, Wizards of Waverly Place , was in town on a sunny Friday morning to introduce her affordable fashion line, Dream Out Loud, with a meet and greet at the Center City Kmart before taking the stage for her evening show at the Mann Center for the Performing Arts.

REALITY TELEVISION has brought together many odd pairings - people dating naked, people getting married at first sight, Khloe and Lamar - but VH1 is taking it one step further with its new fall TV series, Martha & Snoop's Dinner Party . Snoop is, of course, the talented musician and youth football coach, Mr. Dogg. Martha is neither Martha Wash , Martha of Vandellas fame or fashion model Martha Hunt . She's Martha Stewart . What could those two have in common (aside from a love of TV game shows and Justin Bieber )

And the show he stars in, "Hamilton," continued to vacuum up awards, capping the night with best musical honors. "Hamilton," the hip-hop stage biography of Alexander Hamilton , went into the night with 16 nominations and took 11, including best featured actor and actress statuettes for Renee Elise Goldsberry and Daveed Diggs . There's a scene in a film class in Scream 2 where the college kids (Sarah Michelle Gellar, Joshua Jackson, practically AARP members now!) start arguing over sequels. As in, name one that's better than the original. Aliens, T-2 , just about every title gets shot down. Finally, a student says he's got one: The Godfather: Part II. Well, add Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising to that rarefied list. Taking off from the 2014 goofball original - about a couple terrorized by the frat brothers next door - Neighbors 2 brings back most of the principals from the first movie, and then amps up the conflict by introducing a renegade band of college sisters.

Charlie Puth may be a 24-year-old, piano-pounding pop sensation from Rumson, N.J., whose roots go as far back as ...  YouTube, and whose gossipy connections include rumored hookups with Selena Gomez, but the songs he writes and the sounds he makes are the workings of a very old soul. At least one older than Gomez. While Puth's lyrics reference the ageless pains of romance and smooth R&B legends ("Marvin Gaye"), his buoyant melodies - on full display at a sold-out-to-the-rafters show at South Street's Theatre of Living Arts on Monday night - nod to quintessentially classic pop perfectionists Billy Joel, Todd Rundgren and George Gershwin.
